Merged No Planer calls for scientific study / Missiles of 9/11

I think this is the fundamental idea that yankee451 completely fails to grasp. In his "school of hard knocks" view of physics, the stronger object always "wins" in a collision, because that is what frequently happens in the low velocity collisions in his experience.

In fact, the holes in the skin of wings made by bird strikes that he posted is a pretty good illustration of the principle. Although he thinks he is illustrating how flimsy aircraft wings are, what he is really demonstrating is that, given enough velocity, a squishy, flesh and bone bird can penetrate the solid aluminum of an aircraft wing, just as that same aircraft wing, given sufficient velocity, can break (not cut) the steel perimeter columns of the WTC towers.

I'm not really sure what he thinks should have happened. Most likely he expects that the planes would have bounced off, or been crushed without penetrating the walls of the buildings.

Math can demonstrate things that never occur in the real world, such as two converging lines that never meet.

I'm still waiting for all these self-proclaimed geniuses to explain how hardness, density of materials and the construction of the impacting bodies don't play roles in the real world. We're talking about physics not a math problem.

And the reality is that the individual columns in the perimeter of the WTC were really not that large, nor contained that much steel. It really is no surprise that the wings damaged them like they did.

Converging line will ALWAYS meet in the real world and in math when extended far enough.
Just another concept you missed at Google U.

As for hardness and density and construction of impacting bodies......it has been explained to you countless times, but since you apparently skipped so many classes at Google U, you cannot grasp the simple facts already given you.

I'm sure you can point to one or more posts where ANYONE here proclaimed themselves a "genius".

When you are inevitably banned from here, it will be for your insults, which are peppered through most of the 72 posts per day:jaw-dropp you've averaged since joining last month. The fact that you haven't received so much as a yellow card warning (AFAICS) is a testament to the tolerance you are being shown here.

Call me crazy, but I'm bringing some math to a speculation thread.

Earlier on I tool the OP to task on the one-at-a-time depiction of the wing hitting the pylons comprising the side of the WTC and asked if he had any idea of how quickly that would have happened.

Anyhow, I did the math. The entire wing impacted the side of the WTC in 0.04 of a second. The hits on each pylon therefore occurred around 2/1000 of a second apart.

Assumptions:
Impact velocity 240 m/sec
Wing length perpendicular to fuselage: 20.6 metres
Wing rake: 31.5 degrees
Pylons hit by wing: 24

I'm not really sure what this proves other than it happens pretty quick.

I'm still waiting for the evidence that people claim they don't play roles in the real world.

But don't be coy, let's add velocity, mass, and momentum to the mix for complete disclosure. You can start your explanation here on why they *don't* matter.

Art, or Math. In Fantasy Art is Math?

Animal posted first; converging lines in math meet; why they are called converging. In art parallel lines are made to look like they are converging for perspective. Math, more math, reality.

In math converging lies meet, in art, the converging lies, are parallel lines appearing to meet. You talk fantasy, we are talking math and physics.

Is this a stundie or what?

In math two converging lines meet. It happens in the real world, not in your fantasy world.
In art two parallel lines are made to look like they converging for perspective, and never meet in reality, meet at infinity visually in the art, for perspective.

This is not fantasy, like the fantasy you have on 911, it is math and physics.

No, you are talking fantasy, we are talking math and physics.

You ignore physics make fun of physics, in comments to a study showing the math and physics.

PHYSICS and MATH; for the fantasy to work.
The damage at the WTC was due to a kinetic energy impact (KE).
The two impacts were equal in KE to 1300 and 2093 pounds of TNT.
Flt 11 and Flt 175 impacts match the KE of the impacts.
If JASSM was used, but they were not in service until 2009. They were still in test, had problems and production was, delayed. Someone forgot to read the script.
No explosives were used on 911, so JASSM would have to be warhead free, or give away the plot.
It would take 81 JASSM to do flt 11's impact, and 126 JASSM to do flt 175's impact to equal the KE. Each JASSM would have to carry part of the 66,000 pounds of jet fuel that made the 66,000 pounds of jet fuel dispersed fireball seen in each tower to be the same as a 767 KE impact with 66,000 pounds of jet fuel. Any warhead would kill all people on adjacent floors, which did not happen; thus no warhead can be used in a fantasy.

What delivered the 207 JASSMs? Wow, 207 feet wide towers, hit by 207 JASSMs. Wow, a coincidence? Not in this fantasy.

When were there 207 JASSMs built? What about 93? 77?

Ladys and Gentleman we have winner!!

Only took 40 pages...

To be fair, what ballisticians refer to as sectional density matters, also. Sectional density of a bullet varies with mass/diameter2 A 6mm diameter bullet with the same mass and velocity as a 12mm bullet will penetrate its target more deeply, and less kinetic energy will be expended on the bullet and target per unit of penetration.

Sorry, Yankee: The leading edge of a 767 wing has tremendous sectional density. Slices through 6.25mm flanged steel columns like a hot knife through butter, per one of Richard Gage's favorite stock phrases. Maybe, if the wing had magically rotated 90 degrees a millisecond per impact....

BTW, the sectional density of the 6.5mm Carcano bullet that killed JFK and wounded John Connolly was tremendous, in the range of elephant gun bullets. JFK conspiracists cannot or will not understand this.

He is obviously part of the ranks of troofers that is willfully ignorant.
As others have posted, he seems to only want to drive traffic to his lame video.

4900 hits? Shockingly, another failure there.

Pffft. One of my collapse model videos has 72,000. My 30 second audio clip (O&A) and still shot of Ventura getting mocked has twice as many as this crap.

That video stinks! :D

Nominate for Stundie

The official videos of the cartoon planes approaching the towers prove that the planes were fake.

The planes can be seen flying with a constant velocity, in other words (dv/dt)=0. If we apply Newton, then we have F=m*(dv/dt)=0! This is physically impossible! The cartoon planes could be seen flying at 500 mph! Clearly a plane moving that fast must have a non-zero force!

And the government and mainstream media want us to believe that the 500 mph "plane" didn't exert ANY force at all at that velocity!?!? :eye-poppi

So the fact that the planes pictured in the videos are moving at a constant velocity proves that they didn't move at all, they were fake.

I've haven't done a Stundie nomination yet - what is the procedure? If this doesn't deserve it, nothing does.

I was thinking of pointing that out. I agree, it does deserve a Stundie. The bit about constant velocity proving that something is standing still deserves one too.

So where a bullet needs the smallest impact point to provide maximum penetration, a jet wing being spread out over 156 feet only needs momentum?

Doesn't drag play a role in a projectile's penetration?

Why aren't penetrating missiles and bombs shaped like a jet wing? Wouldn't they be able to cut stuff better and not just poke a little hole in it?

i can predict what happens, equal and opposite reactions the whole length of the wing, depending on what part of the wing hits what part of the building.

It had 2200 in the first 11 days, well before it was posted on this forum which has 25000 views alone. And that's just this forum. Either no one is watching what this whole thread is about, or google's numbers are "creative".
