Thank you, I don't know what went wrong. Sometimes I manage to get a link to open at a certain position on a page and sometimes I can only get it open the top of the page.

I'll go a searching for the correct way to do this.

You just missed out the colon in http://

I think you may have actually hit on the one positive thing about A+

+1

Thanks Stout, but don't underestimate the comic drama value sie have contributed! As TCS remarked earlier, the "jokes are writing themselves." I still only wish I could make up some of the stuff they come up with. :D

Well it's certainly taken more seriously in Canada if it's a human rights issue, like if the threats were because of race, religion or sexuality. Which university was it, do you recall?

I don't recall the university, as this was over a decade ago now. And it wasn't a human rights issue, as "pale, black-wearing spookykids" aren't really a protected class. It was just a bog-standard death threat by some putz at the Uni; but apparently the RCMP takes such things fairly seriously, regardless. Certainly moreso than the US authorities tended to take them at the time.

Wow. This Atheism Plus looks like a weird sect of hyper-entitled super-mega-ultra-liberals who reserve the right to become highly offended about everything.

Think I'll steer clear of that little clique, thank you. By the looks of things they're already in the process of imploding under the gravity of their own self-righteous indignation.

Surprisingly mood2 has not been banned for complaining about the moderation. Instead mood2 is no longer is allowed to post in the "Forum Matters" forum, which includes the "complaining about moderation" thread.

I think the mods (and other members of the secret forum) don't realise that you shouldn't really be making the rules of your forum up as you go.

A forum supposedly about social justice that is er...socially unjust.
Among the many ironies.

Good synopsis John. I just took a glance and there were 14 users, counting guests at A+, lol. We should start a pool on when the lights go out there. I'll take April 1. :)

I'd also like to read what others here think is going on there. I mean, it is SO over the top the way the clique there marginalizes so many others in the name of protecting the marginalized. They've truly entered the realm of the surreal at this point. :boggled:

You did:

"Motion/Flowers allergy trigger alert." :sdl:

Really, really funny stuff!

Indeed it was, and the funniest part is when you scroll down and see the reaction to my attempt to insert a little reason into the discussion. I mean, earlier it was claimed by the lynch mob that whoever told wind they were trashing her off the boards was putting lives at risk irl.

I'm expecting a body count from the fallout over this appalling breach of privacy soon. Think about how thoroughly those invited into the sooper sekret forum must have been vetted given the level of paranoia that exists there? I never even learned the secret hand shake. :(

If getting an unsolicited PM could cause some there to take weeks to recover from, surely there must have been a few deaths owing to panic attacks learning their ++ safe hidden enclave had been breached, right?

Nobody told me anyone was trashing me! Swear to god! I PMed someone there that I'd grown to respect and trust and got a semi/non-answer confirmation that yes, there was a secret forum there, but I figured it out just by observing the freakishly stark in-group behavior. It's not something you see to such an extreme degree on forums without private subforums for chosen members.

Just to set the record straight. Again. There were no moles involved.

I did read that part a while ago but have no desire to revisit the thread. The condescending language is enough "... dude, no. don't *********** use that word, full stop." and "You need to... and you also need to..."

It's the same one the Stonecutters use. ;)

I'm surprised there wasn't a death from pollen allergy.

I really need to stop reading the links to their threads. I think it's making me stupider.

Damn shame that.

Ha ha oh wow.

You were banned for continuing to insist that you were accused of intentionally doing something despite repeated attempts by multiple people to clarify to you that they didn't not think you had meant any harm but were trying to explain to you why they found your limerick problematic. In other words for willfully ignoring what people were telling you in favor of arguing against something that nobody was saying. I recommend you drop this if you don't want your ban to be permanent.

Banned for ignoring counter-arguments and erecting strawmen. Such a policy implemented here would probably cut active membership in half.

What's funny is that there's at least on example of a forum which actually does a reasonable job of applying such a policy.

I guess they could go into my account, change my password, log in as me, and go through my PMs to see who accidentally (and it was an accident - the member who sent it totally forgot that the board was a secret, or forgot that I wasn't in there) sent me a link from the secret forum.
If they want to do that, have at it, I guess. (although that would be weird and creepy, but some of them seem to think all sorts of unconventional rules and behaviors are normal, so you never know.) There was nothing nefarious on my end or the end of the person who accidentally sent it, tho.

While I get no moles involved, it seems like an accidental reveal.

I haven't been following this stinky situation closely, until very recently. I can't get over what this pile of manure has turned into, nothing smells worse than it. I guess Atheism Pus was the next best thing to living in an isolation tank for the rest of your life to keep out that which offends, which in their case is everything.

I was actually hoping to see these manure-slinging clowns launch their own version of TAM, to see how hilariously disastrous this train-wreck would be. Unfortunately, at the rate they're going, this just doesn't look possible anymore, but they will continue to stink up the atheism and skeptic communities as long as they can. Of course, their failure isn't really their fault - it's those evil atheist misogynists and rapists who are responsible for the abysmal failure that is Atheism Pus. It's an atheist misogynist conspiracy!

It's all just so passive aggressive. "Im not saying you did anything wrong, only that people could perceive you did something wrong, and (somehow) that's your problem (insert smokescreen here), and if you dont know what is wrong I sure as hell arent going to tell you!".

I have no time at all for these people.

Well, sorta yeah. But if I hadn't previously admined a phpbb forum (and set up private mod forums, and set up a test account as a non-admin to make sure the mod forum was private), I would have thought it was a link to a deleted thread or something like that. There could have been alternative explanations. I was already pretty suspicious, tho. The way the PM exchange started was me PMing the other person asking why I was apparently on [/shun] suddenly, and I was sent a bunch of links demonstrating how "hostile" I was, only one of which ended in the "you do not have access" message.

The person who sent the link never admitted it was a link to a secret forum, tho.
I even asked directly and was given the runaround. But the non-answer was duly noted.
