Jesse Ventura - Fake Phone Calls Claim DEBUNKED!!!

I've had similar experiences out at my cottage on Lake Erie, going back several years now. It hasn't happened recently, but it happened with some regularity with my older cell phones between approximately 2000 - 2004. In my case, it wasn't "Welcome to 'Location X' messages (but I don't recall those being in place or at least being common until perhaps 2005 or so?) but rather it was receiving bills for long distance calls being made from places that I wasn't actually at.

My cottage is on the Ontario, Canada side of Lake Erie and when I'm out at the cottage, I typically use my cell phone. Between (approximately) 2000 and 2004, every once in a while, even though I'd made 'local' calls on my cell phone, I would get a long distance bill indicating that I'd made the calls from Erie, Pennsylvania in the U.S. - some 75 or 80 kilometers away as the crow flies, and much further than that if one was traveling by road. Erie, PA is across Lake Erie (not directly but diagonally) from my cottage.

Every time that happened, I would call up the cell phone company and explain that, no, I wasn't in Erie, PA but at my cottage near Peacock Point, Ontario and they would reverse the charges, but it happened several times. For some reason, the phone would sometimes pick up an Erie, PA cell tower instead of one that was physically much, much closer to my actual location. I have no idea why, but obviously (to me) it certainly happens, and I agree, therefore, that a single experiment at a single point in time cannot possibly be conclusive on the issue.

I was on a beach in the south-east of England, with my cellphone in my pocket. My phone's a few years old, but not 2001 technology. The cliffs around the beach cut off line-of-sight view of any cellphone masts, so normally I'd expect little or no cellphone coverage. A minute or so after walking on to the beach, I received an international roaming automated text welcoming me to Belgium. The only reasonable explanation is that the phone was able to communicate with a cellphone mast in Belgium more clearly than any in England, and so the network registered that I was in Belgium. The key point, though, is that the nearest point in Belgium was over 35 miles away. I've been on the same beach with the same phone many times before, and never had the same message, so something odd in the atmospheric conditions may have been the cause.

Dave

I've experienced the exact same thing many times Dave. Actually, everytime on the train between Dover and Folkestone (just after exiting a tunnel and nearing the old hovercraft terminal in Dover) I've picked up some French network.

Adding to that, I remember a time flying over to Cleveland, (circa July, 2001) and my mother recieving a call from her employer back in the UK (she forgot to turn it off, naughty naughty). We were well below cruising altitude (having long began the initial approach) and yet the call lasted for a good 10 secs before cut out. Though I could not claim this to be accurate scientific assessment, merely an observation.

There are several radio propagation phenomena which could be involved.

One of then is "tropospheric ducting". Think of a mirage where heated ground causes your line of sight to curve concave upwards and you see one or more sky reflections as being puddles on the ground ahead - often 6 or 7 of them on our dead flat to the horizon Aussie outback highways and temperature 40o+ C in the shade.

Back to tropo ducting.

I have - one occasion - received Queensland television full strength no noise on VHF in Sydney NSW - that is about 800Km. Cannot recall channel but it was VHF. Well beyond normal "line of sight" range.

Likewise several occasions 2metre amateur band radio - 144-148MHz - across the Tasman from New Zealand into a south of Sydney repeater with a high antenna tower (150 feet by guess). That is close to 2000Km.

What allows these events is a stable air system with inverted temperature gradients over all or most of the intervening distance - it bends the radio waves around the earth's curvature same reasons but upside down to a mirage - hence my intro comments on mirage.

How these things work at UHF for cellular I have no experience but the same methods would seem to apply.

If you Google "voice morphing software" there are over 191,000 results. What the military industrial complex has is often 30 years ahead of what is on the market. Voice Morphing would be of tremendous value in war time, to confuse the enemy with orders seeming to come from their superiors. It would be stupid not to develop it. Naturally, it would be highly classified. A scenario of how it could have been used on 9/11 is included in the movie www.OperationTerror.com

I'd point out the tactical impossibility of being able to confuse enemy troop movements with voice morphing what with passwords, code names, and a laundry list of other such things but I doubt you'd understand.

Instead I'll lecture you that just because the might have had such technology doesn't mean that they, in fact, did. Same as just because they could have used such technology that they did.

Are you going to provide evidence that said calls from the hijacked planes were anything but authentic or are you going weasel out of it like a good little Truther?

You would like to, but you can't. In the heat of battle, if a platoon leader hears his CO's voice say "go left", he probably will and could go right into a trap. How is that an "impossibility"?

There are many other situations where voice morphing would be extremely useful in the war on drugs. A drug dealer could get a call from a "customer" to meet him someplace, to get arrested. Lack of imagination is no reason something is impossible.

Plus, there are already many voice morphing products on the market. Google "voice morphing products" and there are 1,800,000 links. They are not only possible; they are for sale. Here is a list of about 30 voice morphing products, many downloadable for free.

But irrefutably, in 1991, the Washington Post published this article on Voice Morphing developed at the Los Alamos Laboratory. So the military has had VM for 12 years - and that's just the unclassified version. Classified technology is often 20 years in advance of what is on the market.

Also, the FBI testified in the Moussaoui trial that the alleged phone call about the box cutters by Barb Olson had a duration of zero seconds. Your argument fails, but you gave it a try, like a good little gullible Truster.

Ok lets have your evidence then.

Lol nice edit

ok lets see some evidence that it was used to fake phone calls on 911, that phone records were altered on 911.
oh right oh course thats all secret and undemonstrable which iow makes it a product of your imagination like all truther contentions

Go watch "V" and "The Matrix" again.

If it were possible to do so, then all an enemy combatant would have to do to fool the US military is purchase the Voice Morphing software and use it to their advantage. This would be impossible, because they would have to identify themselves as the person giving the orders along with whatever codes needed.

Did these products even exist 12 years ago? What evidence do you have they were used in 9/11 to phone families of the victims?

By what do you mean by '20 years in advance of what's on the market'? Do you have any evidence that the military has such a thing? Do you have any evidence it was used on 9/11?

Also, the FBI testified in the Moussaoui trial that the alleged phone call about the box cutters by Barb Olson had a duration of zero seconds.

Evidence for this claim, if you would please.

Your argument fails, but you gave it a try, like a good little gullible Truster.

Your argument fails because of potato. You gave it a pathetic try. And I wouldn't be casting any stones if I were you about being gullibility, seeing how you have bought into long debunked Truther hogwash.

Not to mention being able to voice-morph in real time, even duplicating voice mannerisms and inflections, based on only a brief voice sample! And fooling a person's own mother! Something that nobody outside of the Vast Conspiracy is able to do, more than ten years later! Let's face it: The Vast Conspiracy is so omnicompetent, so brilliant, and so fiendish, that the best thing to do is to surrender immediately, and join up. I hear they pay really well.

The dental is amaaaaazing! :D

Checking his YouTube channel, I see that Mr. Olivier has graduated to Sandy Hook conspiracism. Experienced students will have no difficulty in making a good guess as to what he's claiming. As Jonathan Kay has written, conspiracism is a way of life.

Ignoring all the other nonsense, I do have to give you props from coming up with a new epithet for those of us who don't - WAIT FOR IT! - trust your assertions.

An idiot movie, Operation? Means what for 911 lazy gullible 911 truthers, who spread lies? Fantasy?

Wow, you google "voice morphing software", and you can't figure out 911.

This proves you can google, but you can't figure out 911. What is new?

911 Truth debunked on 911. First to fail, last to know; 911 truth's only product, failure. 911 truth has it perfected.

Don't listen to them, I think you deserve props for actually finding an old thread to resurrect instead of going rogue and making another new thread.

All the points above mine aside, what would voice morphing due to HELP the story? I mean, in all honesty, if all the evidence point towards the phones not working then what does it even matter? Why wouldn't the government take the easy way out and say, "Cell phones didn't work therefore we have no phones calls from the victims"? Doesn't that make a lot more sense? Better yet, why not just hold the people at gun point and make them call their parents or whomever? Then *BANG* no one is the wiser. You don't need extremely advanced software, voice morphing, or to fool parents.

This all goes to prove that Voice Morphing, outside of being really cool, is almost completely worthless to your cause. It helps you not at all.

There you go again, using facts and logic. We all know that the Vast Conspiracy planted downed lamp-posts outside the Pentagon, all to convince the sheeple that the decoy B-757 flyover plane was really a few feet lower than it really was, in order to hide that the Pentagon was really hit by a Tomahawk cruise missile. ;)

Are you a fool or a troll, or some combination of the 'above'? Since when is the # of Google hits proof of anything? Flat earth gets 59 million hits and none of the products on the linked site allow you to imitate another person's voice.

You crow a lot about 'critical thinking' but seem incapable of it, you love accusing others of being 'gullible' 'trusters', an obvious case of projection.

But irrefutably, in 1991, the Washington Post published this article on Voice Morphing developed at the Los Alamos Laboratory.

The article was from 1999

So the military has had VM for 12 years - and that's just the unclassified version.

Did you fail 1st grade? 1991 was 22 years ago. But that's irrelevant what matters was the time till 9/11. Nothing in the article indicated the technology could allow a conversation with a morped voice but rather indicated it could be done "in near real time" and necessitated " a 10-minute digital recording of" the subject but some of the callers were not scheduled to be on the flights and one gave a combination to their safe.

Classified technology is often 20 years in advance of what is on the market.

Get back to us with evidence of this claim

Also, the FBI testified in the Moussaoui trial that the alleged phone call about the box cutters by Barb Olson had a duration of zero seconds.

Are you sure they said this about that call? Give us a link.
