John Edward - psychic or what?

I'm not sure how much of a coincidence this anecdote will seem like, but it happened to me yesterday - I've had a few films that I've been waiting until I was in the mood for watching and yesterday was the day. First I watched Ted, which stars Mark Whalberg and Mila Kunis.

And, the trailer for Ted used the song "Best Friend" which was written by ... Harry Nilsson!

(I forgot to mention, the actor wrote me because I was publishing a Harry Nilsson "fanzine.")

Oh, and the actor appeared in an episode of "That 70s Show" which starred ... Mila Kunis!

I'm beginning to see how all this fits together!

Now, if only someone would bring me a pizza.

Except that they didn't sign up from EXACTLY the same spot, unless you did some IP tracking. They signed into whatever the site is so they could leave comments. I just posted a test comment; once it posts to the blog, read it and tell me EXACTLY where I signed in from.
Carlitos, you signed up from the Yorktown-somers site. Easy to know. Patch is national you can sign in from anywhere no matter where you actually are as long as Patch covers that area. But to be fair the most likely towns to read it are nearby. My blog was rated on most popular blog lists in over 25 different towns all at once...it was featured in estimating 40 towns. It is still on most popular list in some towns. No way all 34 nasty posts or posts that attempted to lie about John were from the single same town. Read on... Guy pretty much admits it and keeps doing it even after I call him on it! Why are you still questioning this ? It is obvious!

Remie, and just for yucks...remember, I mentioned a dream I had about a friend involving something insignificant i couldn't have known and my friend couldn't believe I knew it? When I asked my Dad how I knew that, he told me in a dream that spirits can impress thoughts on people (free will remains). Then the Bic Mac, and pina colada to prove what he told me. Well the something insignificant about my friend involved (long story and detailed) a Subway sandwich!! And now your pizza ! Yup, more food. : )

Without the human mind there are no coincidences.

kerikiwi and some others, so if you ever come across an anecdote that you simply cannot explain away in your own mind with your myriad of theories including coincidence, memory fail... then instead of believing there may be things out there that you never thought possible...you choose to believe the person is lying? Obviously I can't change that, but it is sad. And definitely closed-minded.

No, it's rational. These anecdotes are actually claims about the physical universe that seem to contradict what we know about that universe. Why would anyone believe them without corroboration?

I'm 800 miles from Yorktown, and things that are "obvious" to you aren't "obvious" to most of us. But, as ever, you believe what you like.

First I watched Ted, which stars Mark Whalberg and Mila Kunis. The second film I watched was Date Night, which stars Tina Fey and Steve Carrell. About half way into the second film, Tina and Steve visit an acquaintance who turns out to be Mark Whalberg. About 20 minutes later than that, they encounter Mila Kunis.

I have taken this as a sign that Mila Kunis is gorgeous and talented, and have made a point of catching up with her back catalogue.
As a sometime pedant, particularly when it serves no purpose whatsoever, I must insist that you are mistaken.

Perhaps you saw Mark Wahlberg, but you in no way saw Mark Whalberg. I know, because he was at my place watching the game, eating pizza

To say that the ONLY possibility left is that I am lying (without even knowing me, and I don't think I come across as a liar character -wise from any of my posts) is closed-minded. I'm only talking about those that said or implied I must be lying. I would have thought those people would have gone with coincidence or someone deliberately doing it as opposed to i am lying. Must mean they think the story is SO special it has to be a lie cause even coincidence etc. wouldn't explain it. Instead of them thinking hmmmm, maybe there is something to some woo stuff...just maybe. Nope they write it off as me being a liar. And yes, that would be closed-minded.

I'm not calling you a liar. All your stories can be explained without resorting to woo. Resorting to telepathy and spirits is being closed-minded.

It is possible I am mistaken, but I do not think anyone said that lying is the ONLY possibility left. It simply is one explanation among many which explain your stories without resorting to supernatural imaginings, particularly when the imaginings are themselves internally garbled.

Now then, how about Carlitos being 800 miles from Yorktown?

Forget the pizza...someone bring me Mila Kunis! ;)

Over the last 2 days I've watched 6 films which feature Mila Kunis in prominent roles.

Things I knew about Mila Kunis beforehand:

She's funny.
She's a good actress.
She's gorgeous.

Things I have learned about Mila Kunis since:

Her mother is a physics teacher, her father is a mechanical engineer, and her brother is a biochemist, all of which implies that she is also very intelligent.
She's a Trekkie.
She's heavily in to video games.
I find her raspy voice sexy.

Things I have decided:

I want to marry Mila Kunis.

If I happen to bump in to her in the street over the course of the next couple of days, I'll definitely take that as a sign. I mean, she's got a boyfriend, lives in a different country, and is so far out of my league that she's not even playing the same sport, but a sign is a sign, right?

I saw whichever of them had a bunch which was funky.

Carlitos, I know you wouldn't know that...you shouldn't...which is why I tried to explain it when you first questioned it....but then even after my explanation you again questioned it with the test comment. So then I tried again to explain it in more detail. Little upsetting when people implying you are lying but I do understand.

No one here knows you Robin; why should anyone believe you just because? Why should anyone believe "there's something to this woo stuff" without any, any credible, corroborating, objective evidence?

"Relativity? Well of course we believe you, after all, you're Einstein!"

That's not how it works. Especially with an alleged phenomenon as rife with fraud as psi.

I'm not implying that you are lying. I'm implying that your reasoning is faulty. I signed into the site by posting a comment and following the default prompts. I don't live in a place "covered" by patch.com. You have no idea where those 34 aliases came from. Someone could have left the web page on in a library; someone in Rivertowns could have linked it on their Facebook; Rivertowns could be the default place for new logins from a great big geographic area. Etc.

Okay, I'm starting to lose my faith in signs. I've just started watching the first film since yesterday that I didn't deliberately choose because it had Mila Kunis in. I've read the book of The Lovely Bones but beyond that and knowing it's directed by Peter Jackson I know nothing about it. The very first scene features Mark Wahlberg.

Therefore I think the universe is trying to tell me that it's actually Marky Mark that I'm destined to be with.

Perhaps Robin's dad can clarify?

Edit to add: Robin, you can probably tell that I mean this primarily in a humorous fashion (though not an insulting one), but you may not realize I also mean it seriously. Your posts indicate that you can communicate virtually at will with your father. It would be of interest to hear what you say is his take on some of the coincidences described here.

Ask him to send me two Jack-in-the-Box tacos. That would be impressive, as the nearest one is 200 miles away.
