I prefer that my consumer dollars not go massive <choose your vulgarity>'s like the Koch Brothers. Koch Industries is primarily in the business of industrial products which are hard to avoid, but they do have a couple of wholly owned subsidiaries with consumer products. Here's a partial list of the more recognizable name brands:

Georgia Pacific
Dixie cups, plates, etc.
Brawny paper towels
Angel Soft toilet paper
Mardi Gras napkins
Quilted Northern toilet paper
Sparkle paper towels
Invista
Stainmaster Carpeting
Lycra
I wish I could be a fly on the wall when my wife tells her yoga/dance friends about lycra. :)

I'll be adding to this list over time.

If I'm not mistaken, this board is for discussion of USA Politics.

A gathering of Democrats and liberals who discuss strategy and actions which will help their cause or damage their political opponents? That's DailyKos.

ETA: Maybe you could at least make the thread about why Koch should be boycotted.

Which explains why no recent threads discuss what Republicans can do to win future elections...

the koch roaches are obscenely rich pigs that care zip for the rest of humanity.

Is it because they're conservative and support conservative causes? There are lots of rich people who support all sorts of stuff.

Since the OP didn't lay out his reasoning beyond calling them massive ********, I'll just throw a couple of starter questions out there:

- Should people boycott their political opposition? Or should boycotts be reserved for actions offensive to all, e.g. racist hiring practices.
- What have the Koch brothers done that warrants a boycott?
- Why the focus on the Koch brothers? Are they the only ones engaged in this type of action?

Good idea. Later on I'll document the things the Kochs have done that lead me to not want to support them, for readers who are unfamiliar with their objectionable activities.

They fund ALEC. Society needs them like a rabbi needs a pig farm next door.

Why would a rabbi in particular have any problem with a pig farm next door?

Is it some sort of weird Hostel trip, where the pig farmers kidnap him and force-feed him piglet cooked in its mother's milk?
ALEC and the Koch roaches, are offensive and a source of noxious waste. It really is a sin to use one's wealth to bribe, coddle and otherwise influence the soft-skulled noobs to ignore the public interest in favor of one's own commercial interests.

50 Most Loathsome Americans

2) David & Charles Koch
Charges: In a land filthy with noxious liars, these two are the filthiest. Their dad founded the ridiculous John Birch Society which claimed fluoridated tap water was a Communist mind-control plot—while his company built oil refineries for Stalin. And they’ve not fallen far from the despicable hypocrite tree. Koch Industries, the second biggest privately-held company in the country, generates its annual $98 billion in profits from coal mining, stealing oil from Indian reservations, refining and piping Canadian tar sands oil, and every other clear-cut, mountaintop-removing environmental abomination under the sun. How they make money is dirty; how they spend it is dirtier. From free-market-humping think tanks CATO and Heartland to Tea Party-backing Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Works, they invest vulgar amounts of money in misappropriating populist rage and misinforming the ignorant masses on climate change, tax reform, environmental policy, health care, and any other issue that could cut into their fat bottom line.
Aggravating factor: In a philanthropy-meets-disinformation masterstroke, the Smithsonian’s new $15 million David H. Koch Hall of Human Origins is a climate change whitewash, which teaches that destroying our environment is no big deal because we can just adapt and evolve.
Sentence: Fed to the Kraken.

:)

For funding a sophisticated guerrilla-style campaign against science, just for starters.

The bottom line > scientific truth, obviously. They and the groups they fund will be among the last people staunchly denying global warming. It's in their interest to do so.

Is it because they're conservative plutocrats and support conservative plutocratic causes?

See above

Why the focus on the Koch brothers? Are they the only ones engaged in this type of action?

No, but they're the biggest and easiest to target. Has to start somewhere.
