2012 Electoral College Predictions

Generally, yes. It was after the 2000 election, in which the media attempted to throw the election to Gore by calling Florida early.
I voted for Bush (twice actually). I never thought the media conspired to do anything.

I suppose Hanlon's Razor could apply here.

Regardless, IMO it's good policy to keep quiet until people are done voting.

Stupidity (Hanlon's Razor) doesn't fly. Either the media "attempted to throw" the election or they didn't. If they did then it can't be chalked up to stupidity.

Didn't they decide an election or two ago not to publicize data until the polls are closed across the country?

They won't call a state until it closes. They won't call the election until California closes. That's the deal agreed to by everyone using the AP pool data.

It changed at least 16 years earlier when California complained that the network news was affecting voter turnout.

Just checking in...

No drinking yet, but the ice wine is waiting. First, I need to log onto L4D2 and blast some zombies :)

Northern Virginia is blue, but not blue enough. On the other hand, it looks like Florida's cities are turning in more Obama votes than expected. Ohio is a complete mess. If Obama takes FL, it's his night even without VA or OH.

Ohio called for Obama. The swing states Romeny needed without Ohio are already Obama's. Romney can have VA and FL, the President wins reelection. See you all tomorrow.
