2012 Debates

Ah yes. McCain beating Romney for the presidential nominee in 2008 is a good thing for Romney. It helps to give him street cred now.

Mrs. Maximus is laughing at the TV: so either Romney just said something stupid or Obama zinged him :)

Romney: "Mr. President, do you look at your pension? (Repeat 10x)"

Obama: "I don't look at my pension. It's not as big as yours, so it doesn't take as long."

Yep! Romney was pushing Obama to answer if he ever looked at his pension (for investments overseas). Obama came back with, "No, its not as big as yours". And the audience laughed.

Not really a logical retort, but it got an emotional response.

Romney, when defending his investments in Chinese companies, said it was up to his blind trust to pick the investments. He then turned to Obama and asked, "Mr President have you looked at your pension?"

Obama replied, "It's a lot smaller than yours, it doesn't take that long to look over."

Question: "Who ordered the embassy to have less security?"

Obama: "How about I answer what I did after the attack happened instead!"

Obama says don't make foreign policy a political issue, right before he does just that...

..but, what else can he do?

Foreign policy can't be separated from this political race.

And, Obama want's everyone to have small pensions, like his!

:D

Obama was cutting costs, that's it.

Or was dodging the question, which seems more logical.

I would actually develop a ton of respect for Obama if he said "You know what, I screwed up. My fault."

Obama just took Romney to the woodshed on Romney's implication that the Obama administration was less than attentive the days after the embassy attacks. Then the moderator corrected Romney, and the audience applauded her.

yikes.
