Good luck Robert. Do not forget to report back how the interview went.
The unusual last name (Nacek) set off my "might be an anagram" detector, but running "BARBARANACEK" through some online anagram solvers yielded nothing. "Bar a Banacek", perhaps?
Try un-anagraming it and running it through that new thing they have, "Google".

Try reading post #19 above, in which I mentioned that I had done so.![]()
But thanks.
It has come to my attention that this same French journalist has approached many prominent skeptics with the same request. The journalist's name is Barbara Necek if anyone wants to do a little research.

For what it's worth, I am a native French speaker, and if you need any help with revising a translation I could take a look for you. If your friend is fluent it's probably not necessary but just in case a native speaker would help, feel free to PM me.
Good luck!
That is so rude. OK he might have an excuse to cancel an interview once, but a second time, both without notice shows that you are not very important in her eyes. If you were important then he would treat you better, such as canceling the other event that caused her not to interview you at the agreed time.
How about giving her a hard time? Such as not being available when she calls next?
... or referring to her by pronouns of alternating genders?
That would serve him right!
But yes, I agree that my interview was apparently not important to her. I will not write asking what happened, but will wait for her to make the next overture.
You must realize there's a very pressing matter of the utmost importance in the French news these days : members of a handball team, some of them members of the winning olympic team, have been caught fiddling with and gambling on matches results ... You can't expect journalists wasting their time with secondary matters like thousand of people being conned by psychics ...![]()
Even if there was something like this I would expect at least a phone call before the scheduled interview time saying "cannot do the interview now..."
So would I ... that's called "politesse élémentaire" over here, something some journalists obviously don't abide by ...
