Questions I have yet to see a Birther answer:

1) Why was Stanely Ann Dunham out of the country when she gave birth?

2) When did Barack return to America?

3) Who was behind the newspaper announcement?

4) When did the Hawaiian government decide to get behind the conspiracy?

5) Does any Birther really think this is the kind of nonsense the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the constitution?

Exactly. President Obama is powerful enough to make the governor of Hawaii tell lies for him, but when the president needed to present a document to the press and the Republicans, he let a White House intern create one in a couple of hours.

That is one of the defining elements not of conspiracies but of Conspiracy Theories. The perpetrators have to be geniuses and ignoramuses at the same time.

You forgot two claims that repeatedly come up in this thread.

1) He was born in Hawaii, but that does not mean he is a natural born citizen. I think that has something to do with his mother being a citizen but his father being Kenyan or British/Kenyan which means B. Obama has dual citizenship and therefore is unable to run for president. If another poster has a better summation of this particular flavor of kookiness, please correct me.

2) He was born in Hawaii and he was a citizen at that time, but somewhere between 1961 and 1991 he did something to lose or revoke his American citizenship.

I guess there is a third option: both one and two are correct. At the moment of his birth he was both a citizen and a non-citizen. Determining which "state" he was in requires an observer trying to prevent him from holding office.

It has everything to do with the evidence. The judge was going to rule for the plaintiffs because the defendants didn't show up. The plaintiffs insisted that the judge rule on the evidence instead.

Birth announcements made via the health dept. and issued are a way to acquire US citizenship.
