Three Times A Lady

307 Ale
It started out at M.I.T. one lazy summer day,
When a couple of the frat-boy techies started in to play,
They'd caught up on their schedule with a couple hours to kill,
So they fitted up the cyclotron and made themselves a still.

They added choice ingredients to brew a little brew,
But they didn't know the wires were crossed in Chamber Number Two.
A tiny bit of space got folded, things were looking queer --
They turned the spout and then came out the world's first Hyper-Beer.

It bubbled and it burbled and it glowed a fizzly green,
And what it did to test equipment, frankly, was obscene.
It took awhile to find a vial it wouldn't burst to flame,
Then they measured out its potency, and that's how it was named.

There's many drinks you'll drink, me lads, but this one beats them all:
One hundred fifty-three and one-half percent alcohol,
A beer, brewed in a tesseract, that'll shoot you through the roof --
And if you don't believe me, I've got lots and lots of proof.

Well done! Now I will have to find an original recording of the song, so I can learn the tune to sing with your version of the lyrics.

He's still holding on to the spirit getting Christ's birth and death dates correct as well.

Can you blame him? As PeaceCrusader points out in one of the links he provided to us, his numerological speculations were confirmed in the strongest possible way by the physical arrangement of post office boxes at the Campbelltown City Post Office in Metropolitan Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Ummmph indeed.

I would like to apologize to all of you. I am deeply sorry. I will refrain from discussing prophecies anymore and be tight-lipped on this. I will reconsider my belief that the Holy Spirit who we are talking to is the true Holy Spirit and so is my belief that Ka Apaz’ physical body is appropriated by this spirit. As I used to say, if we were to believe in a god, we have to be sure that He is the only true God. As God, He must be omniscient. That means, He knows the past, the present, and the future.

Apology accepted, PC.
I hope you can break away from these pernicious and obsessive mental activities and the people who have encouraged you in them.
All the best, PC!

Rock 'n roll..
Having apologised for scare mongering pick up the shattered remains of your faith and now go ..

And be assured if you come back with another 'prophesy' I/we will be waiting...

While I am sorry for you that you were decieved PC, and happy for myself no nuclear war happened I too congratulate you for being man enough to admit your error.

+1 (for PC)

I'll add my voice to the recognition of your manupness.

I'd like to ask a follow up question. I know it is still soon after your failed prophesies but, even at this early date, what do YOU conclude went wrong? To the extent you have a central role in this matter, what do YOU see yourself doing to prevent future similar failures?

In short, where are you now metaphysically and what are your immediate plans?

Thank you for the apology, PeaceCrusader. There's so much wonder and beauty in the real world, mate, just go and be part of it. There's no need for Spooks and little old mouth pieces.

Actually, save dropping the chorus and the preamble, those are Tom's originals:

Late December back in '63

Yes, Lukraak Sisser, August 17 was revealed by the same Holy Spirit. Why did I believe that His prophecies of a world war starting from the trouble in the Philippines occurring on a Wednesday and the cancellation of the 2012 Olympic Games? Because I have proven that August 17 is true and correct in my studies from 1999 to 2003. In addition, the May 23 birth of Jesus is also true and correct. Who could be correct in two ancient dates?

How come that Passover was in August? Isn’t Passover in March or April?

Would you believe that the Jews during the time of Jesus were using two kinds of calendars? The purely lunar calendar with 354/355 days contained the religious festivities like Passover, Feast of the Dedication, New Moon Festival. Since this calendar has only 354/355 days, it wandered through the seasons. When Jesus was crucified, Passover was in the month of Av in the Jewish calendar or in the month of August in the Julian or proleptic Gregorian calendar.

The other calendar was a lunisolar calendar for civil usage. It had 353/354/355 to 383/384/385 days in a year. The first month was fixed in the month of Tishri sometime in September/October. New Year’s Festival was on Tishri 1 and 2.

In the year A.D. 358/359, Hillel II reformed the Jewish calendar by merging the two calendars and came up with a form that is in use today.

What a very strange way to say, "I was wrong."

A chap named William Miller, back in the nineteenth century, predicted for his faithful followers (by means of much arithmetic) that between March 21, 1843, and March 21, 1844, the End of the World would come. His adherents gathered atop mountains to await this important event as the deadline approached. It failed to arrive, and Miller took another look at his calculations. Seems he had dropped a few fractions, and the new date was given as October 22, 1844. Again the dummies gathered expectantly, and when the prediction again fizzled on them, a few abandoned the group. But not all. Today, more than 135 years after the fiasco, the Millerites are still with us, preaching the End and warning of doom. But now they are known as the Seventh-Day Adventist Church or the Advent Christian Church and by a few other names. Nothing succeeds like failure.

Hey now, be fair guys; to the best of my knowledge, this is the first time ANYONE who came here with a prophecy of doom and gloom has apologized and acknowledged that their belief was incorrect.

I appreciate the apology*, but I didn't see an acknowledgement that his beliefs are incorrect.

He said he will reconsider his belief, but apparently that reconsideration does not entail questioning the existence of his "one true God".

*ETA: On second thought, I don't care about the apology. He did nothing to wrong me. I'd much rather see him learn something.

Early on in this thread I linked to a list of dates predicted for the end of the world. Happily, most of those predictions did not lead to the creation of churches like the Seventh Day Adventists.

We can add the dates that we learned about from PC in this thread to that list, and I think we will likely continue to add dates of failed predictions while mankind is on Earth. Humans are gullible.

So, I stumbled across a new JREFF meme - the dachshund draft stopper.

(I dare one of those Amega Wand types to show up peddling MLM woo, again. We can now draft an army of doggy draft stoppers and ride 'em out of town on a rail.)

PeaceCrusader, big of you to own up to your mistake and apologize. I rarely see it when a prophecy fails.
