Of they could have been using 'la raza' in the traditional sense, which would just mean they are of Hispanic decent.

That, and AIUI they want to take back Texas.

So does the USA....mostly.That, and AIUI they want to take back Texas.
They probably meant 'National Council of La Raza members', which is a Hispanic civil rights group.
Which I guess makes it alright to harass them???

That's why I'm a fan of the Daily Show. Jon Stewart is biased as hell but he'll take on idiots of all stripes. I have fond memories of his calling out Keith Olbermann on his over the top, shrill hysteria over Scott Brown's election, and Rob Riggle (an ex-Marine) covering the wackos who were trying to shut down the Marine recruitment center in Berkeley.
What is your definition of mainstream media then? Is that just a code word for 'perceived as left wing'?
Here's one example:
GE was smeared by FoxNews.

What makes you think that the "Tea Party" was the ONLY place that Ross looked for the name James Holmes?
Isn't it likely that he also googled "occupiers", "Young Republicans", "NRA", "NAMBLA","PETA", etc...? in conjunction with the shooters name and location?
If so, why would he mention the ones where he didn't get any hits?
You jump to malice, where there is only evidence of sloppiness, not even a great deal of it either- Ross made no claims other than reporting what he had found on a google search.
Bill O'Reilly's show is clearly presented as "opinion" not news. Moreover, the description of O'Reilly's "suspicion" as a "smear" comes from GE.
At ABC, it's a routine inborn pattern of selective bias
Please answer Spindrift's question.Fine, what is your definition of mainstream media?
I've seen it in their writings before, but at the moment am too lazy to look it up. Read some of their stuff.....
Where is that in that link? As they are a Hispanic American civil rights and advocacy group, who are they going to 'take it back' from? They're already Americans.

+ 1 to the list of posters who want an answer.

If the mainstream media lies as often as you assert, then why doesn't FoxNews or one of its competitors air a daily program called "Lies of the Mainstream Media"? They could have a 20-minute program just pointing out mainstream media lies in the past 24 hours. The cost to produce the show would be relatively small and it is a guaranteed ratings hit. Even folks on the left would watch it so that they could cry about being misquoted and taken out of context.
Fine, what is your definition of mainstream media?
That is not a definition of "mainstream media" it is merely a set of examples of what you consider to fit whatever your definition of "mainstream media" is.CBS, ABC, NBC, NYT, Wash Post, Time, Newsweek, etc.,etc., etc.

How about this question: What is it about Fox News that makes it not mainstream media in your estimation?
CBS, ABC, NBC, NYT, Wash Post, Time, Newsweek, etc.,etc., etc.
And yet, somehow, Fox News doesn't fit in with the "etc?"

Nor does that of ABC, NBC, CBS, HuffingtonPost, The New York Times, etc..etc...etc...It's combined audience does not approach that of the mainstream media.
