Actually, PC, it's "The Pearl of the Orient Seas". "Pearl of the Orient" has been associated with Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), Penang, and mostly Hong Kong, where it's part of the former city-state's motto (or on its crest... or something like that).

Did either you or the crazy old lady think to ask Teh Spirit why He's so hell-bent on the coming Armageddon, when he could just whisk his ephemeral self over to Smokey Mountain in Manila and do something about the tens of thousands of people who live by picking through a garbage dump that is such a hazard that it gets its name (Smokey Mountain or Fire Mountain) from the fact that one portion or another is always on fire, via spontaneous combustion of the decomposing materials.

It wouldn't be prudent. The OP (and the crazy lady) apparently feel that it is far better to spend 6 weeks on a nonsensical thread garnering thousands of posts than to ask a simple and straightforward question of Teh Spirit when Teh Spirit was there for the asking...go figure.

Peace, I don't know if you're aware, but this is a forum full of skeptics/sceptics and the person it's named for is very fond of debunking psychics who use what is referred to as "cold reading". Your interviews with the old lady (baby Jeebus' ghost) are like a primer in "leading questions", the kind that cold reading psychics just love. The way you ask, you're just pointing to the answer you want to hear. She responds accordingly,... Apparently, it is not only at the Smokey Mountain in Manila where people pick through the garbage dump but also in other third world countries. The Holy Spirit said that we are all equal. Whether one is the brightest person or the most powerful or has the largest mansion or most expensive car or the handsomest person or the most beautiful woman or the President or a pauper, we are all the same. We will all die. And we cannot take with us the conferred degree or accolade of our fellow human beings. We are all just one and a half liters of soil. Naked are we when we came into this world, naked also when we face our Creator.

There is no "Creator." You should, though, accept that we as humans are capable of being fooled, as you have clearly demonstrated over the last nearly 2000 posts in this thread. We believe what we want to believe. You want to believe that it's the end of the world. Sorry, but it's not. Next Wednesday will be quite similar to this last Wednesday. There will not be a nuclear war, and the Olympic Games will start as scheduled. Your "holy spirit" medium is a fraud and a liar. Will you accept this if my predictions prove correct?
