Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

That may answer why mention it, but does nothing to address the 'not press charges' part.

There was just a 40 post, 2 page argument about whether or not statue of limitation applies. With no agreement. Perhaps the professionals can't agree on it either.

Perhaps you missed where we told you that you are completely wrong about that?

I linked to David's most because I was too disgusted to be coherent in mine.

It just seems so improbably that you don't know that kids that young can be sexually active, that I can only assume you are really making that claim because you feel you are in so deep in defending Z at all costs.

Oh, and BTW, I also notice that you are still concentrating on the ages when it started and trying to hide or ignore the fact that it allegedly went on for 10 years until adulthood.

Since you missed it last time:

I've always found it best when solving a problem to start at the beginning, and in this case there were a room full of potential witnesses present at the first alleged incident. I think the difference in the way we view this is you appear to believe it all actually happened, and I see it as a series of accusations with no supporting evidence. I find the timing of the allegations suspicious, the first phone call unconvincing, and the opportunity to cash in a potential motive to deceive. Plus, I would really like to know who she talked to after making that initial call. Given what we know to date, it would seem possible, indeed probable (I stole that from the first Motivation in the Knox case), the information she provided went straight from the Sanford P.D. to Crump. (Natalie Jackson said she had known "since the beginning".)

Of course, she could be telling the truth, or half the truth - I don't really know. I'm a skeptic, but I only argue innocence, and only if the evidence supports it.

So why isn't she pressing charges now, since she's no longer afraid? This is the exact same question btw, and no one has been able to answer it. Perhaps you're confused.

Adding this for reference purposes.

This may be very helpful for people looking into the latest document dump. It was 284 pp., so, it's a bugger to swim through, especially if you're looking for one particular detail.

Some very nice person organized this:
http://www.clickorlando.com/blob/view/-/15490330/data/1/-/kligxm/-/Zimmerman-documents.pdf

Table of Contents Docs Dump 7/12:
...
145. Crime Scene Sketch
146. -147. Sketch Key
...
284. Crime Scene Overlay

Thanks for posting that link.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that in the crime scene sketch the measurment lines go back to the outside corners of the pillars but in the overlay, the reference points are marked as the inside corners?

Nice dodge.

I'll ask the questions again.

You seriously think that motion is going to be granted?

Did you read it?

As crim loves to point out, it's everything they could think of. But yet it all still amounts to nothing.

As for as your responses to the "I can only assume", I think it is clear that it hits home with you. Your trying to deflect it is quite telling.
That would depend on whatever process is in place for such reviews.

Generally a child molester does so because he is sexually attracted to children.
Except for when child molestation is not part of an adult.
I don't think an 8 year old is sexually attracted to anything. They may be curious about the other sex, but it's not sexual in nature the way a 13 year old is or even an 11 year old.

I was a child once, you know... and I'm an atheist.
And your uninformed magical thinking is still just that. GZ need not have been molested to have become a ten year perpetrator.
And if Zimmerman was molesting the girl because that sort of thing was normal in his family I suspect we'd see more evidence of that by now.
False assumptions on all levels.
And if he was some crazy psychopath who'd been molesting people since the age of 8 for reasons unrelated to his rearing I think we'd see far more evidence of that by now too. There is rarely just one victim.

More false assumptions and now a hyperbolic false dichotomy, just because you are posting in this thread does not mean you can't rise to your usual level of intelligent posting.

More bashing of an alleged victim, why don't most victims of family violence press charges?

Because they are lying? What is your point other than just being confrontational?

What amount of reporting family violence is there? It never happened because they did not meet "WildCat's Guideline for Reporting Trauma"?

Sigh, why mention it in an interview but not have pressed charges.

This is more bashing of an alleged victim, great ploy, will it be provocative clothing next?

You can do better.

This wasn't some random police interview. She contacted the police to tell them about the alleged abuse, and it's completely unrelated to the Martin killing. She's reporting it, not keeping silent.

I've seen nothing from the police regarding statute of limitation issues wrt those allegations, have you? And what about the other 2 states, are there statute of limitation issues there as well?

Why aren't those allegations being investigated?

I did. Do you think this may be significant?

I chalked it up to a sloppy CAD operator, but then I'm more inclined toward trusting the field personnel. Probably because I come at it from a field background. I've had to deal with bogus CAD artifacts all too often. (I have lots of anecdotes. :)) Usually, when pressed, the CAD people tell me that they count on us to get things right in the first place. Their words, "We can't get as precise as you can."

I've had drawings where dimensions didn't stack or close properly, or bearings didn't add up. (Something I could understand back in the day, when drawings were done by hand, but not when the software is supposed to be doing it all for you.) I don't always get a good answer why not, just questions about what I think will work best, and then they change the drawings.

If so, those CAD operators are doing something very wrong. :eye-poppi

Yes, they were.

My personal favorite (among many) ended up with a world renowned landscape artist being flown over to the States from Japan to discuss why the layout of his brick paver courtyard design couldn't be laid out the way the CAD drawings showed it. It's a long story, with several punchlines, but ended up with the dude (who was a really nice guy, BTW) telling me to do it the way I thought it needed to be to work, and then tell the CAD people how I did it. :p

CAD software is great stuff, and really handy. But it isn't a magic bullet. It's much easier to assume or take things for granted. It's also easier to get in a hurry and overlook the obvious. All that power and functionality has pitfalls of its own.

I don't blame the CAD operators. Getting something built is a group effort, and there's a reason different people have jobs. I just don't expect the drawings to be the final, perfect solution to everything just because a computer program was involved. There are still imperfect humans using it.

I work with architects who like to make CMU walls (and lintels in particular) an odd number of feet long. Some of them still don't understand why that doesn't always work...

I think we're derailing :D

Isn't the author of the CAD drawing the same person that helped Smith do the field measurements?

Changing the baseline by twice the column width would move all the marker positions significantly to the west except marker #1 which would move northeast. Marker #4 would be pushed several column widths west and would be noticeably misplaced. If the field drawing is incorrect, we cannot know to which side of the pillars any of the measurements were made.

Maybe when I get arround to aligning the photos with the 3-D model I'll be able to resolve this. It's kind of difficult for human error to screw up the photographic record.

Perhaps. I don't know why some posts in an internet forum would lead you to a conclusion that professionals couldn't interpret the law, though.
