Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

I assume you mean this part:
This bill eliminates the statute of limitations in criminal cases of sexual battery when the victim is under the age of 16 at the time of the offense.

But that would be ex post facto, so wouldn't apply AFAIK
As the Supreme Court noted... of course, they were overturned on 'appeal'...

Here: https://www.scribd.com/doc/10033017...fied-Motion-to-Disqualify-Trial-Judge-7-17-12

I loved this comment I quoted earlier: "The State has issued a slap-down of epic proportions, all but screaming 'take this and shove it, bee-yatch'."

From the opening:

All judges on a regular basis are asked to listen to evidence and make decisions on the evidence presented. If a party doesn't like a court's findings that doesn't mean they have the right to ask for a new judge. Furthermore, counsel for Defendant <snip> makes a similar complaint, despite the fact that counsel himself has, in public, to the media, on more than one occasion, proclaimed essentially the same things he now contends make he and his client "concerned" about being treated "fairly".

Defendant's Motion is long on conjecture and irrelevant and inaccurate bombast, short on actual fact, and devoid of legal merit. One might ponder the motive for including irrelevant material in such a Motion; is the design merely to get sympathy for Defendant and/or to prejudice potential jurors?

Another interesting part, they point out that much of the motion to remove the Judge involves events that happened prior to the bond hearing.

apparently none of this bothered him in the slightest until after this Court set his bond the second time.

This is sad, you are engaging in denial of the sexual nature children, are you basing this upon religious beliefs, because you are mirroring them.

You are diminishing the nature of sexual assault and show a clear tendency towards ignorance.

Sexual rage and frustration do not lead to sexual assault, so add some stupid neo Freudian crap to your ignorance.
Generally a child molester does so because he is sexually attracted to children. I don't think an 8 year old is sexually attracted to anything. They may be curious about the other sex, but it's not sexual in nature the way a 13 year old is or even an 11 year old.

I was a child once, you know... and I'm an atheist.

And if Zimmerman was molesting the girl because that sort of thing was normal in his family I suspect we'd see more evidence of that by now. And if he was some crazy psychopath who'd been molesting people since the age of 8 for reasons unrelated to his rearing I think we'd see far more evidence of that by now too. There is rarely just one victim.

Every source I have seen has Zimmerman's age as 28 and his cousin as 27. So, without knowing birthdays and the exact date this alleged event took place, I think it would be reasonable to assume he was 7 at the time she says she was 6.

That's what I thought, but even MoM says he was 8. He must have just turned 8 at the alleged time, and she was still 6.

Assuming they know the time of the alleged molestation.

The whole allegation, what little we know of it, doesn't add up to me. Did the police follow up and investigate these allegations? If not, why not? And if they did, what was the result?

It didn't happen in Florida. It would have to be reported in the state the assaults took place for an investigation.

The last time she says she was molested was in Lake Mary, Florida when she was 16.

eta: and shouldn't the relevant law enforcement jurisdictions in other states have been notified?

From Zimmerman's perspective, if it didn't happen, there is no way to put a date on it. Why would O'Mara say Zimmerman was 8 when something didn't happen?

The accusation is tied to a date - when Meza visted during the summer during or after a move, IIRC.

Interesting. I wonder if this is going to be reported to both states. She may not want to press charges or their just might not be enough to make a case. Who knows?

Why mention it and not press charges? Just to throw dirt around?

Investigator: Why have you decided to come forward now? Not that that’s wrong. I mean I don’t want you to think that at all. I think that good but what has led you to come forward to us now?

W9: This is the first time in my life that I am not afraid of him (crying). I know that nothing can get to me, he can’t get to me. I mean if I saw him on the street or if I saw him anywhere it would just make me breakdown in tears. But now with everything going on, I know he’s not going to be out in public, you know I won’t go to Target and see him anymore. I’m not afraid of him now.

<snip>

W9: The thing is that growing up I told my friends, but I didn’t tell my family. And those people would probably remember more than I would. I don’t remember, I tried, tried so hard to forget it all and to make it go away that I even forgot the good stuff in my life (crying).

I: Well

W9: There’s things that my family talks about that sounded awesome but I don’t remember that (crying) it sounds like they are talking about someone else. I don’t (crying)

I: OK, OK. Just so I’m clear person you’re talking about that did this in Lake Mary what’s his name?

W9: George Zimmerman

I: OK and what’s his relationship to you?

W9: (redacted)

I: Alright, is there anything else that you can think of that we haven’t discussed that important that you wanted to share with me today about this?

W9: Does it count that he admitted it?

I: Did he admit it to you? Is that what you’re saying?

9 - well yeah, my parents were there - my parents found out & they confronted him & his parents about what happene & they wanted to get together & talk about it because I think - they just don't believe it because he - he is that way that he MAKES HIMSELF LOOK SO GOOD THAT THEY WERE IN SHOCK. They had no idea and I never told them the depths of it, I told them I don't want to talk about it Just forget it, (NN - when did this happpen?/go into more detail) 2005 - My sister told them after I told her that night & she said that she told them, she had to tell my dad & she didn't know what else to do & I was so afraid and I WAS I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AFRAID OF HIM..

NN - what's your sister's last name (REDACTED) how old were you in '05?

9 - let's seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... 20

NN -what happened when your sister told... what part did you tell your sister first?

9 - I just told her that things happened. That was it, I never... (NN - no specifics?) - NOTHING IN DETAIL - I was there when she called my dad & told him I was freaking out & very scared & said things happened w/George &....

NN - OK so what happens next in the sequence of that?

9 - we went to a restaurant it was the UNO in Lake Mary @ the time, we = me mom & dad annnd they told George we need to talk about this and INSTEAD OF TALKING ABOUT IT all he did was come in the room - the restaurant, he sat on the end of the booth and said "I'm sorry" AND JUST GOT UP AND WALKED OUT.

So is it being investigated?

I don't know. I really don't want to get into discussing it because there are things that I find weird but with such little evidence, either way, I don't want to start looking for reasons to call a potential assault victim, a liar. The dinner meeting is a pretty bold accusation to just make up when it's easily verifiable. I just want to withhold judgement until I see some evidence, either way.

She can't press charges. As KatieG said Florida has some wacky laws

In the case of sexual molestation the Statue of Limitations is very short (4 years). Unless you have False Memory Syndrome, then it's 4 not after you remember it, but 4 after you decide you were emotionally damaged by the memory.

OK, thanks. Is she saying she remembers going to a movie when she was six?

I've only listened to the first phone call from 2/28. There was something about it that is hinky - artificial. It reminds me of the first time I heard Darlie Routier's 911 call and she said something like, "We could have got the prints". Something about it just didn't seem right, but to this day I really can't explain exactly what.

I don't think an 8 year old is sexually attracted to anything.

Perhaps you missed where we told you that you are completely wrong about that?

Yeah, those 7 year olds and their raging hormones... :boggled:

Wow, this is sad, it shows either ignorance or deliberate ignorance. Besides a false dichotomy.

I know, those 7 year olds, full of sexual rage and frustration.

This is sad, you are engaging in denial of the sexual nature children, are you basing this upon religious beliefs, because you are mirroring them.

I linked to David's most because I was too disgusted to be coherent in mine.

It just seems so improbably that you don't know that kids that young can be sexually active, that I can only assume you are really making that claim because you feel you are in so deep in defending Z at all costs.

Oh, and BTW, I also notice that you are still concentrating on the ages when it started and trying to hide or ignore the fact that it allegedly went on for 10 years until adulthood.

Since you missed it last time:

Wow. Just wow. First of all, this another poster ignoring the fact that the sexual assault occurred for a decade, until adulthood.

Secondly, some of you are still denying that humans can be sexually active at 8 or even younger.

Being sexually active at that age happens.

Being sexually active at that age is wrong.

But here is the important fact. That "being sexually active at that age is wrong"? That is when both parties consent.

We're not talking about that.

We're talking about sexual molestation and rape.
That's several magnitudes more wrong that 2 humans consenting at 8.

Some of you trying to hand wave it off as the former, as just "playing doctor" is absolutely sick. Disgusting.

I will never forget that certain members in this thread have done that.

Asked pages ago and answered.
