Here's an interesting development.

Apparently a small memorial was placed outside the neighborhood, and the city recently took it down. Apparently the family wasn't very happy about this, and there's talk of making a permanent memorial.

This plan has apparently angered Frank Taffee et al. and there will be a petition circulated within the neighborhood.

Wanted to get you all's opinions on this whole thing.....

It has absolutely nothing to do with the shooting, at all. If he was found guilty of murder 2, it has absolutely zero relevance to a sexual assault accusation, and if he was found guilty of sexual assault, it doesn't automatically make him a murderer. They are two separate situations tied together for no other reason than the witness called back to make the second accusation. The prosecution had to turn it over because they legally cannot withhold evidence. Apparently both sides fought to keep it sealed, possibly because of the weight of the accusation, or possibly because the witness did not want this information released.

When that was posted that person admittedly was fully aware that the molestation supposedly occurred until one or both of the people were adults.

Saying that a 7 year old is not capable of sexual molestation is just sick. Add to that the fact that the person knew it continued until adulthood? Absolutely disgusting.

I think she means that this evidence should not come into the case about shooting Trayvon Martin, and I agree. In the link I just posted, it's pointed out that the only way that comes in is if O'Mara tries to present evidence that George is of good character. Then it all comes in.

He also notes that O'Mara failed to file for an emergency stay in order to block the release of this info, and O'Mara dropped the ball.

Not a good week for him.

Well yeah, and those god fearing "conservatives" posted her name and photo. Because that's what you do to people who claim that someone raped and molested them.

Now, and accusation isn't proof, and unlike the fact that he 100% shot and killed an unarmed teenager, this would come down, yet again, to a case of George telling the truth while those around him lie.

I don't know. I wonder if he'd like to have a shred of that credibility back right about now?

NBS wasn't talking about coming forward. NBS was talking about releasing it publicly. Those are two different things.

I think whoever is responsible for releasing the information, since it's clearly irrelevant legally, is guilty of ethical misconduct (not saying it's illegal, I guess this is how you play the game). Why? Because it serves no purpose whatsoever except to pollute the jury pool and make this guy hated. It's also going to open this woman up to unprecedented scrutiny, I hope she's told them that's OK because that's what's going to happen now.

I think your whole understanding of why were discussing this topic got off track somewhere.

You clearly take issue with how Judge Lester worded his order, and believe he made inappropiate statements that unfairly disparaged Zimmerman.

I'd simply like to know what specific law or legal guideline you believe Judge Lester violated that gives you justification for your belief.

I think O'Mara, and his co-counsel, the heavyweight murder defense attorney laid out the legal reasoning quite well.

So is the defense's motion what Zimmerman's defenders are hanging their hats on as justification for the belief that Lester's order was illegal or unethical?

I'll certainly agree with your assessmet of the commentary of self-appointed legal experts.

I've seen those clowns make some ridiculous assertions. Everything from claiming the probable cause affadavit was illegal to denying Zimmerman's wife would be charged with perjury.

I've even seen some moron assert there was a motion made by the prosecution regarding Zimmerman's second, hidden passport that was laughed out court, despite the fact that no such motion existed and the judge actually took the passport issue quite seriously.
