The gazillionith July Stundie Nom thread

Except I am debating that the illuminati have been behind every major war since the french revolution. Theyre behind evolution in the textbooks, the vatican, islam, and every doubter of Jesus.

Best part? This is a response to a post about board moderation policies!

Loon content aside, he is responding only to the last sentence which states that his comments do not belong in "Great Debates" and as such it makes a teeny bit of sense. Of course he completely ignored the idea that his post was unwelcome in the first place because its a revival of a dead thread.

Well that's true. In fact if anyone has all the power and money then everyone else has no power or money!

I'm still pondering if ALL wars can be properly attributed to the invention of pottery, or to the wheel...

The Wheel gives access to chariots (but requires horses, and thus Animal Husbandry to get access to). Pottery is just the Granary and Shrine. That's a make love, not war type tech. I've also seen civs declare war with nothing but neolithic warrior. All that requires is Farming.

I blame grain.

It is difficult to envision a quadraped that is not bipedal being able to operate a farm. One needs to have appendages that are free to manipulate tools, gather, and transport relatively large volumes of loose material in order to farm.
I blame the development of walking upright.

(so forget what I said above about the internal combustion engine:D)

Wait, so "Animal Farm" wouldn't work??

No link? Is that because its such an incredulous statement that no evidence is needed to make it believable?:)
Not sure if serious, but you see that little arrow next to the username? Links back to the original comment. It's fairly non-intuitive. I found out when I randomly clicked on one one day out of curiousity, after almost a decade of seeing them on various forums.

Holy ******* Christ on a pogo stick eating a corndog....wtf is that?

(Does he also not understand that technology uses TONS of science?)

We've got the winner right here folks. Read it and weep.

Laurie Willberg; homeopathic journalist, was always good for a laugh. She's less fun now that she's taken to stating everyone who disagrees with her is a sheeple who gets all there information from 'pseudo-sceptic' science blogs, but she still pull out the goods occasionally.

A group referring to itself as the “Friends of Science in Medicine”, made up of senior doctors and scientists, has set itself up to “counter the growth” of what it regards as “pseudoscience in medicine”, where “true science” is defined as a set of practices characterised by “an experimental, evidence-based approach”.

What amazes my about this one is the author is a Professor of Medicine at Monash University

Pure genius...

"Just because nothing comes up when I goggle "Wave blowers" doesn't mean they're mythical. You haven't proven they don't exist."

Neither Goggle nor Google could find any supporting evidence for "wave blowers" as a means to provide negative buoyancy*, but they do exist - honest:boxedin:

* Yes I know, completely mad, but this is a conspiracy after all, what did you expect?

Darn, Erock, I was just about to nominate that! However, FF88 is the gift that keeps on giving, and from the same post:

My not having access to classified info doesn't mean it couldn't have happened. The government can manipulate any data it wants to so any records saying such-and-such a thing happened cannot be used as proof of anything.

Governments classify the information to keep it secret, but they manipulate the information so that no secrets would be revealed even when the documents are released. How sneaky is that, huh? It's almost as if they don't need to classify anything - and yet they still do.
