do creationists know they are losing or not

In a sense, they are. Their theory was debunked long before Darwin's theory came about (in fact it was a critical first step to Darwin establishing his theory). The fact that we're still talking about it, that people still take it seriously, is proof that they're winning at least some battles.

The fact anyone is ready to accept without question an entire lineage of humanity from a 130~ year and perpetually changing understanding of heritability is equally entertaining to 'us'

It seems to me all you have to do to convince yourself that you need no more education on the matter is type yourself into an ego stroked alcohol fueled frenzy :)

Round two?

Actually I wish that more people had an education on evolution if they want to discuss its pros and cons first.

Do you know how despicable it is to hear people like Ray Comfort say evolution should produce a "crocoduck"? That's the problem, there is no consequence for creationists to be wrong as long as creationists decide what to learn. The way things should be are people like Ken Ham and Ray Comfort sitting on an empty stage speaking to an empty auditorium.

Only a proper education of the facts can let that happen though.

I'm thinking that their victory will be short lived hopefully. I think in time people will see that it's really really really stupid and will be just another sham like the Shroud of Turin claims.

Take one minute in between jabs to tell me about coral finds and let me see a pic of million year old septal structures pls if you have any. Not off google pics, something you beheld if that ever came up in your find.
B

Take one minute between pretending you aren't a creationist and that you are logical to let me see a pic of magic.

Can you explain this? Are you equating Jews to fascism?

No, he means that the current fascists have replaced the Jews - their traditional scapegoat - by the Muslims. Take "Mein Kampf", replace "Jew" by "Muslim" and you get something the EDL could have written.

Being an American is hugely why I'm not impacted by religion unless I allow it. Of course it influences policies I'm referring to it placing us in the dark ages. Can't say the same for other places, its nice being able to opine with no fear of decapitation

As you drive around where you live notice all the churches. They are not paying taxes yet they are using the resources that you pay for with your taxes so you are subsidizing their religion.

No liquor/dry counties might be one that's purely religious county legislation...but not a big drinker. Being gay in the land of baptists wouldn't be too fun I can clearly see, again not my demographic I'm sure things could be different. I clearly see how it affects those around me.

So when they mess with drinkers you don't care because you're not a drinker and when they oppress gays you don't care because you're not gay. Humm...

I believe in some human knowledge again you two have overlumped. I grow rare corals in a fishbowl if biology was a woman id have an inane twenty year affair with her.

I just think you guys are only allowed to be quasi- certain of the here and now, not ever about what happened millennia ago

not all creationists claim to know jack about aeons...when people in my faith try to tell me about them I start listening to slayer riffs through my Bluetooth headset until they are done. Nobody knows that far back, but its not hard to identify those who think they do.

She's two timing you. I saw her hanging out with evolution the other day.

Doh. I didn't read it that way - facepalm.

Bigfoot I'm not pretending, I am a creationist. In my studies of genetics that's what I conclude. You choose to conclude Dna self assembled from space components, began as marine hydra, then aquatic mammals, then terrestrial hominids, then someone as smart as yourself that he has it all figured out with no doubts on how it works. Did I get the summary pretty close?

Remember, try not to get mad at someone who draws a different conclusion, that's too common in creationist/evolutionist debates. I'm not selling anyone here on my views, I'm skeptical of many things religion has tried to force on me.

I drink, but not heavy. I simply don't care if the county I live in is dry. alcohol can be had if needed.

I have gay friends, they are never judged by me. Non religious policies also affect us, all policies affect us, its part of where we live. The religious ones aren't particularly impactful. If I was gay, I could consider moving. My gay friends are doing just fine however, making a good living, and aren't moving anytime soon. Since you hate religion you overstate its immediate impact compared to other policy impacts not being mentioned.

We have to drive a ways to get to a movie theater too, then jaegermeister can be bought there as well.

It is not a big deal if neither movies or liquid licorice isn't right around the corner...I truly feel for those impacted by having no theater I will consider rethinking my entire position.

Churches don't pay taxes? Don't care. Its the cost of living in our great land. I know people on welfare who shouldn't be but will continue, another cost. I have too much benefit in my life to let it drag me down. Cheating bankers get free passes, but then again I'm thankful for mortgages since I don't have to pay up front for my house...I just don't look for reasons to be pissed off and finger pointing.

Anyone who thinks opining here makes change should put down the keyboard, and do things to put new evolutionists in office. There are some, go add more. I place bets you will just continue being super smart on the keyboard :)

On July 8th 2o12 since the dawn of our nation you guys have the -most- opportunity you have ever had to elect the proper officials to get the policy changes you want. Non religious permeation is the highest in America its ever been. Seize your opportunity geeze

Its not perfect for you, but its the best its ever been for your cause as more and more super-smarts become more convinced there isn't a God as science progresses better than it ever has.

I can respect anything from a group of evolutionists but a line must be drawn at whining with no action.

Try using the "quote" function so we'll know who you're replying to.

(it's the button with the word 'quote' in it at the lower right of the post)

If science thought it had all the answers, there would be no need for scientists. The beauty of science is that it's always looking for more information. That's why we build telescopes, put rovers on Mars, probe the structure of the atom, and decode the human genome.

Religion, by contrast, assumes that a small group of people who lived 2500 years ago got everything right and there's no need to question it. That's why we get bumper stickers that say "The bible says it. I believe it. That settles it."

Steve S

Bingo.

I'm replying to all of you :) each time. Your paradigms seem connected by an underlying nerve net such that if you prick one polyp they all withdraw

My apologies to any independent evolutionists I may have looked over in my assumption

You seem to be carrying on a conversation that no one else is having.
