Philippines weather reports that it's 31^o, and not 3100, so I'm guessing there's been no flight of ICBMs. Just checked the northern border here (with China) and there's a back up because of a fleet of timber trucks, but no sign of the People's Army.

I guess we have to wait until next Wednesday, eh?

Is what the Holy Spirit said on 2012-05-03 be sufficient that the 2012 Olympic Games scheduled to be held in London from 07-27 to 08-12 will not be held? Why will it be cancelled? Because of the nuclear World War III. The war will start on a Wednesday: 06-27, 07-04, 07-11, or 07-18. I do not know which country it is when it will be Wednesday. My choice is 07-04 in the US because it is its Independence Day and is a public holiday. Most likely, there will be a surprise attack a la 1973 Arab-Israel War.

And you think they'll do this because China will carefully analyse the cost/benefit of grabbing the Spratly Islands versus the downside of starting a nuclear conflagration and decide that on balance it's worth having its cities reduced to radioactive cinders, its vast manufacturing base utterly devastated and its paying customers worldwide destroyed just so long as it gets its hands on whatever oil is under the islands.

Because, you know, after a few centuries when the world population recovers and the economy picks up again, that oil's probably going to become fairly valuable.
