I am glad, xtifr, that you know something about the Holy Bible when you cited Matthew 16:28 (“Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”). It is also in Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27. Some people may have read a lot of books but have never touched the Holy Bible.
The Holy Spirit mentioned this Matthew 16:28 to us. Those who lived during the time of Jesus are already dead. Their bodies may already have been pulverized by now. But have they seen Jesus coming in His kingdom? Has Jesus returned physically already? He has not yet.
We think of death as physical death, the “death” of the physical body. Does the physical body have life that it dies? No, it does not because the physical body is just soil, lifeless. It only moves, talks, hears, thinks, etc. when there is a spirit. The spirit differentiates a “dead” person in a coffin and a living person. Why are you, xtifr, alive? Because your spirit is still in your physical body. Once your spirit leaves your physical body, then we say that your physical body is “dead”.
Did you know that the Holy Spirit told us that Mary Magdalene, Hestas (the thief who was crucified with Him and who even railed Him – Luke 23:39), the Samaritan woman (John 4:7) are still with us. Hestas was a man but lives in a woman’s body now. He said that all of us (listeners present) had our spirit lived in male and female bodies.
