No, it's an established fact at this point that Wright made the claims. No, the affirmative claim is that it happened.

It's been widely reported, audio tapes have been played on Hannity, and Wright has not said anything about it being faked.KoihimeNakamura is correct, WildCat. Asking someone to prove that Wright never said something is impossible.
Yes, now. You were asking people to prove a negative before this evidence was available. This is evidence of the affirmative claim that Wright said he had been bribed (paraphrased), which is what we were asking for in the first place. It's been widely reported, audio tapes have been played on Hannity, and Wright has not said anything about it being faked.
It's been proven way beyond reasonable doubt, the ball is in your court to prove it's all faked.
No, arguing with Truthers is having some accept the claim itself as evidence and asking you to prove them wrong. You are the one who has been acting like a Truthers in this thread, WildCat. The only difference is that the evidence eventually backed your claim. This is like arguing with truthers who dismiss all evidence as faked.
I'm not a right-winger, but I'll take a jab at it...If anyone ever gets to the bottom of why this should matter let me know.
OK, can somebody summarize the situation for those of us too lazy to make it all the way through this thread?
What did Wright say about the the alleged bribery attempt?
Is it probable or corroborated that he is telling the truth?
What did what he said mean?
Who made the alleged bribery attempt and what was his connection to Obama?
As an aside, I'm a fiscal conservative in the sense that I think that the federal government's budget should be balanced, I often favor free market ideas and I'm a registered Republican who votes for Obama because I don't like the hyper hypocritical, militaristic, big spending, social conservative, crony driven nature of the current Republican Party. Is there any chance that this is going to make me change my mind and not vote for Obama?
Is there any chance that this is going to make anybody not vote for Obama?
Well, first, it's not a story that will convince anybody to vote for Romney. It is instead motivated towards keeping the base worked up enough to vote in November, or so my political instincts tell me.
The nutshell version is the Wright says that a mutual friend gave him $150,000 to stop saying crazy things attempt to hurt Obama.
No evidence Obama put the friend up to it.
No evidence the payment actually occurred or even that the conversation took place.
Evidence does exist that Obama won't even take his calls, and that Obama considers that friendship broken.
If I were a friend of both, and I thought I could end Wright's attempts at revenge, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I wouldn't EVER ask Obama if I could.
And here we have Wright, who says he accepted that payment (did I get that correct?) and that was to not embarrass Obama, and what does he do? Shows himself to not be able to honor a solemn promise.
Wright allegedly told Klein that a friend of his got an email from a friend of Obama's and told Wright about it. The friend of Obama offered $150k to stop preaching.

You forgot Ayers.I'm not a right-winger, but I'll take a jab at it...
OBAMA! WRIGHT! OBAMA! WRIGHT! OBAMA!
I admit it's just a wild guess.
Has Wildcat considered the possibility that a world class attention whore like Wright might make this kind of thing up?
Is Wildcat attempting to align himself with those people or is he just doing his best to defend a manifestation of their nut jobbery?
I think the question rhetorical. And a rather good one at that.Have you tried asking him via a PM?

Thing is that these guys all think it is a grand conspiracy - Obama acts centrist NOW, but as soon as there is a Democratic majority in both houses, they expect Obama to unmask as an Islamo-Fascist-Commie-Socialist-Gay-Freedom-Hater, and then they all get sent to re-education camps.
After he takes away everyone's guns.
