Really, you want to get in some kind of money making pissing contest and compare MOM with sybrina 'trademark' fulton, off in jolly old england right now on someone else's dime ?

That's Birmingham Alabama.

Trust me, it's not a great place to visit. No public bars allowed! Dead as a doornail too... a long time ago I was there with some friends to see a Bob Dylan concert, a Saturday night show. Got there several hours early, thought we'd have a beer or 2 in a bar before the show. No bars, not even a restaurant was open! Had to buy a 6-pack at a gas station and drink it in the car...

During their visit, the family raised awareness about conflict resolution, as well as funds for the newly formed Trayvon Martin Foundation. The next stop for the family: London, because they feel this issue is not limited to the United States

People like Benjamin Crump, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson - or any other second parties perceived as profiting from this incident- are fair game. But do we really have to attack a mother whose son was recently killed?

That's just tacky.

If you are talking about a TV interview, not a problem. But if this is a police interview trying to discover the facts, the interviewer must remain as neutral as possible. The proper way to verify it was a mistake is to return to the subject later and see if the witness repeats the same story or to write it up or repeat what they stated and see if they offer a correction.

The interviewer might have simply asked a question after the error.

"Did you mean to say that GZ was following TM?"

We need to see the interview transcript.

As far as police interviews remaining neutral...I would like to believe that's the case, but I know it often isn't.

FWIW, you're probably right. She herself may be being exploited by crump et al.

It was poorly thought out tu quoque response to the insinuation that MOM is dragging this case out in order to make money.

The entire effort by the prosecution to get the "tactical flashlight" entered into the official record was ruined by Galbreath voluntarily offering up the fact it is only six inches long. Put it all together, and one could easily conclude there might be a hint of desperation emanating from the prosecution.

There's a decent chance that this is the light. It's very popular, and because it is most commonly sold in black, and it's metal, it gets called a tactical flashlight.

The mother and Crump are going after an innocent person, IMO, just like the Kerchers did with Maresca in their four year odyssey of persecution of Amanda Knox. That makes her fair game in my mind, although others will overlook her - and Tracy's - attempt to subvert justice, for one reason or another.

I don't think that's fair. There is probably nothing on this earth as painful as losing a child and it's probably almost impossible to see straight when it happens. I loathe the way Crump/Sharpton/Jackson have used this. But I can't hold the parents responsible.

I've bolded the operative term. You don't know for a fact that Zimmerman is innocent, and the grieving mother happens to disagree with you.

Wow. I shudder at the mindset that determines someone who recently lost their child is "fair game". As anyone who as ever lost someone close to them could tell you, grief can be an overpowering and irrational force. One can certainly disagree with the actions of Martin's parents... but to label them "fair game" for whatever vile criticism might come their way? That's just sociopathic.

Oh, I missed that line.

Can you please elaborate on them subverting justice? It is known that gz shot tm, his innocence is still in question at this point, and I can think of no better way to determine it than the courts.

They are free to apologize, call the whole thing off, and go home. Yet, they continue on. All of those lawyers are working for Martin and Fulton. To pretend they have nothing to do with this is silly. They are the ones out front, and they are directly responsible for Crump's disinformation campaign and for Zimmerman having to hide out with a bounty on his head in what is supposed to be a free country.

A Grand Jury was already scheduled before the mob showed up in Sanford. When that happened, the case was turned over to State Attorney Corey, who in turn cancelled the GJ, presented a lie-filled Probable Cause Affidavit, and had Zimmerman arrested for 2nd degree murder. The normal course of justice was subverted by Martin, Fulton, Sharpton, Crump, and the MSM, and replaced by a railroad prosecution. I haven't heard of anyone, anywhere who thought Zimmerman would have been subject to a 2nd degree murder charge before the mob showed up.

ETA - My apologies for the tone of my last couple of posts. Injustice sometimes gets me hot under the collar. I'll try to tone it down in the future.

Maybe if you're lucky, one day you will have the opportunity to spit in Sabrina Fulton's face for her crimes against humanity. Too bad they already held the funeral for her dead son, because that would have been the perfect place to do it.

Like others here Katie, I just have to wonder how you came to that determination and how you quantify that? There was an investigation. How have you determined that there "should have been more investigation"? In fact, from the lead investigators testimony on the stand, it doesn't sound like after several weeks they have any more evidence than they did the first time around when they decided not to prosecute. Can't say that with certainty, but that's what it sounded like.

BTW, just to give an example, we know they did ~4 hours of questioning. We know they had him reenact the scene. 4 hours of questioning seems like a lot of questioning to me. Do you think that was not enough? If that was enough, why would we assume that other areas of their investigation were not enough? Do you have any metric to base that judgment on other than the fact that he wasn't arrested?

When my house was broken into years ago, the AustinPD did more than 4 hours of investigating. There were some circumstances that made it more than a simple break in, but still...

I think for me, it's a case of burn out. Info coming in from all sides, the media doing the usual beating us about the head and shoulders, and for me, just the tragedy of the whole thing. Because I never got to have children, I tend to empathize with parents, perhaps to an extreme.

I have no problems with guns. My liberal leaning self believes US citizens should be able to own guns. Hell, my husband and I own a few.

I've stopped posting much because there's nothing new to discuss. I appreciate the discussion out here and we'll see what happens when we get the doc dump.

I'll leave that option up Zimmerman's family. What do you think their opinion is of Martin and Fulton's national campaign of hatred and vengeance (and profit) against their son? Did you forget Zimmerman has a mom and dad, too?

As long as we can see the "correction" in context, it shouldn't be a problem.

It's like if you are talking about GZ following TM for a while with an interviewer, and then you get them mixed up one time, and you say TM was following GZ, and the interviewer corrects you. "You mean GZ was following TM, right?"

There's nothing wrong with that as long as the interview is left intact, imo.

Now I agree an officer might seek clarification.

I have no idea what the Zimmermans think of your hate-fueled fantasy-version of events.

Did you forget Zimmerman has a mom and dad, too?

Yes, it completely slipped my mind. Now that we have determined Zimmerman has parents, it's perfectly reasonable to unleash a venomous assault on the people grieving their dead child. Please, carry on. It's always fascinating when social niceties fall away and someone reveals who they really are.

They questioned GZ for 4 hours. I'm sure their total investigation hours was many, many times that. You didn't honestly think you'd sneak that invalid comparison by me did you Katie :p :D?
