Merged Chick Tracts

That was horribly disjointed and I couldn't read it or figure what it's about. You know, standard religionist hogwash.

The first couple of pages had me concerned. They were too simplistic. 70s punk? Jewish guy? Is this really the best he can do? "What're we gonna do tonight, Schnozz?" "Same thing we do every night, Pinko: watch Mel Brooks and listen to the Ramones."

Thankfully such crude fumblings seem to be a byproduct of the hiatus, because he's soon back on form:

If you don't know what this guy's thinking, I'll meet you in the rectory in five minutes.

It's still not at the same level of awesome as his old stuff, mostly because it's just recycled antiCatholic crap. Would it kill him to tell us we're going to hell because of the facebooks or something that anyone cares about?

I can't think of a way to link it in with the rest of the post, so here's a good parody chick tract.

That tract could just as easily put this thread in the CT forum. Apparently the Vatican was behind the assassinations of both Abraham Lincoln and JFK.

On page 8, the guy who says "That's too easy. I refuse to believe it." Is that supposed to be Dawkins?

It's always fun to play spot-the-clumsy-cultural-reference with Chick.

This demonstrates that fundamentalist Christianity is often simply the quasi-religious arm of right-wing politics. There is absolutely nothing in global climate change that attacks the Bible or Christian doctrine. In fact, Christians with an apocalyptic bent could easily see in global warming the beginning of the fulfillment of end-times prophecy. That Jack Chick attacks the science of global climate change demonstrates two things: He has an anti-intellectual bias against science, and, for him Christianity = capitalism.

ETA: I saw the Chick tract elsewhere, but I couldn't make your link work. However, you can find the tract here.

Jack Chick would make me laugh if I didn't know that millions of people buy this crap. I used to get his little comics on Halloween instead of candy. NOT popular houses, to be sure.

I've also never understood why fundies are so opposed to climate change. I guess once you're willing to throw science to the curb, (ID, age of the Earth, etc.) you go full throttle and don't let anything stop you.

Many fundies refuse to believe it because of Genesis 9:11 (OMG!:eek:9/11!!!eleventy!!!!)
I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.

Of course, no scientist is saying that the entire earth would be flooded. But that doesn't stop the fundies from making the claim.

Picture is gone already. That didn't take Chick long.
