It's not a big deal, but you did. The claims of pictures of "burned out" churches and pictures of Koran burning rallies came from you, most likely based on a mis-reading of the article Puppycow linked to. But if you can show me where the claim did not originate form you, I'll admit I was wrong.

Several news organizations have claimed that Zimmerman's lawyers have confirmed that http://therealgeorgezimmerman.com/ is legit. Are you denying that? Or are you claiming that they are mistaken? This is not a trick question. Just curious what your position is.
I already posted the link to Puppycow's post, which by your own admission, you've seen, and by your own admission, you knew exactly what site I was talking about with my paraphrased description.
You also clearly admit that you know that the idea of churches and rallies didn't originate with me, but with wording within Puppycow's post.

And that doesn't change the fact that I also linked to the article where the lawyers named an entirely different site. The media has seized on the 'Long live George Zimmerman' site, which again, I've already posted, so you already have what my position is.

Do you have a relevant point of some kind?

What happened to the claim being pushed in this thread that there was no neighborhood watch?

No neighborhood watch was registered with whatever the national neighborhood watch association is called. I linked to the article that stated this earlier in the thread, don't have the link handy.

Why would he put up a website with burned out black churches, Koran burning ralllies and 'Long live George Zimmerman' on it (www.therealgeorgezimmerman.com, which is the one that the media keeps honking about)?

I still don't know what your position is.

The term "burned out black churches" absolutely originated with you, not from anywhere else in this thread, nor from any links in this thread. That you continue to deny that is rather bizarre.

You linked to a local news story from 5 days ago. Pretty much every major news outlet in the country tells a different story today, including confirmations from Zimmerman's lawyers.

You can either explain why you think NBC 6 Miami got it right over everyone else, or maybe begin to explore the possibility that they - and you - are mistaken.

Do you have a relevant point of some kind?

I think the point being made is that you are mistaken.

ETA: More bad news for Team Fake Website. The sole source being used to dispute what all the other major media outlets are reporting...

... is now also reporting that therealgeorgezimmerman.com is a genuine website:

http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/George-Zimmerman-Seeking-Donations-on-Website-146803905.html

They acknowledge in the article that the report from last week has not come to fruition.

I think he does not believe the site is legit, since the lawyers previously gave out the name of another site. However it seems to me that perhaps all that happened is GZ changed his mind and bought another domain. I'll tell you one thing, if therealgeorgezimmerman.com is legit, he should seek employment using a pseudonym designing websites. The guy has mad web designer skillz. :D

That the media plays games.

The same media that assured us that:
> A shooter named Zimmerman was a white racist,
> They had copies of *Trayvon's* 911 call (this was not a slip of the tongue),
> The local police just let Zimmerman walk away with no investigation,
> Zimmerman was studying in the police academy program at the local junior college,
> Zimmerman's father was a Supreme Court judge who pulled strings,
> Zimmerman brought up Trayvon's race to the police dispatch,
> Zimmerman's lawyer said he would and[/i said he would not use Stand Your Ground,
> Assured us with pictures that Zimmerman outweighed the child by over 100 pounds,

Is now assuring us that the lawyers said that http://www.zimmermandefense.com (a placeholder site) and http://www.therealgeorgezimmerman.com (a site with weirdness) are the authorized site.

My position is that I'm skeptical.

I haven't reviewed all the links for the major media. If they are all getting their "information" that the site is legit from the same source, I agree that being skeptical of their source is a reasonable position.

However, if the 'source' is claimed to be GZ lawyers, I think I would have to initially believe the media reports no matter how weird the website may look.

Agreed

Until we either hear George Zimmermann or his lawyers saying the sites are legitimate I would remain skeptical and assume they are not legitimate.

Which website?... the media has cited the lawyers on both addys, much as they did with the Stand Your Ground 'quotes'.

( ...his attorneys told NBC News on Monday.)Attorneys confirmed to NBC News that the site, which domain records show was created Sunday, is real and is operated by Zimmerman himself. (therealgeorgezimmerman.com)

What exactly is there to be skeptical of ?

Wrapping himself in the flag

It's his website. Bet on it.

And it doesn't do much to belie the supposition that the guy was/is a hotheaded wannabe big shot with delusions of grandeur, and an accident waiting to happen.

I don't remember which news article but one posted an edit at the bottom saying that they initially had the wrong web site but they corrected that and state that the correct web site is therealgeorgezimmerman.com. It appears that he has, since this morning, added to the web site that he is trying to get back to every supporter that has messaged him. He has also apparently taken down the picture of the graffiti. I still don't think the "Justice for Zimmerman" is appropriate, but at least he is not thanking vandals anymore. I believe, at this point, that it is Zimmerman's web site.

I would think his lawyer would have warned him about such things. My understanding is that the first thing lawyers tell their clients in situations like this is STFU.

It was registered through a registrar that proxies in the whois entry and features pictures that are inflammatory to at least some of the viewers. Given the penchant of some boards to troll rather elaborately I'm not exactly sure how serious that site is.
And what exactly is up with that visitor counter?

The media

:boggled:

Except that your original position wasn't to be skeptical of the media. It was to accept one media source over all the others:

You even offered snarky replies if anyone dared disagree with you:
Fell for it, did you? Even after the facts were posted?

Considering that you were willing to believe one particular media source - a media source, by the way, that has since reported the same information as all the others - can you please explain why you now claim to be skeptical of the media on this issue?

And you still have not substantiated this claim...
I didn't come up with the claim about churches and rallies...

... which was in the reference to this claim:
Why would he put up a website with burned out black churches, Koran burning ralllies and 'Long live George Zimmerman' on it (www.therealgeorgezimmerman.com, which is the one that the media keeps honking about)?

If the claim that Zimmerman's website contained "burned out black churches" did not originate from you, from where did it originate?

And what exactly is up with that visitor counter?

I noticed that too. The randomness adds to the "just threw this thing together" look of the thing.

EDIT: Also I noticed there is only one image in the "Album".

What was he thinking

I certainly don't see the upside of this. I can't see this going well for him.
