Well so long as the road isn't baptized after it's dead.
The road is not in Utah, it should be safe from that.

So if the road is blessed and you get in an accident can you sue the blessor for doing a crappy job?
You're not old--you just have a lot of XP!What is the world coming to when World of Warcraft references are more widely used and recognised than D&D references.
I feel old.
So did The Onion write this story or just report on it?
How embarrassing. Hard enough being an atheist as it is; do we really have to publicly pull stunts conceived of with the intelligence of a grade school kid? Makes me freakin' sick.

well i play a D&D variant which uses mana-based casting, but i was actually thinking of skyrim when i made the post lolIts not that. The original post that started this sideshow was:
Not really specific, but with the reference to mana it seemed more appropriate to continue with a game that actually uses mana as a mechanic (which table top D&D does not.) hence WoW.
“It’s objective is to place Holy Angels at all roads that lead into or out of Polk County...A strip of anointed oil has been placed over all lanes of highway at the county line and a prayer has been given at each location asking God to have angels inspect every vehicle that travels into or out of this county and to bring under conviction to those who seek evil and we asked God to bring them to a state of submission and repentance...If they will not submit to God’s way of living, then the prayer is to have them incarcerated or removed from the county...“Mainly, we want this to be a safe haven for folks who want to raise their families,” PUP organizer Dr. Richard Geringswald told WFTS-TV. “Asking God’s protection from ne’er do wells and evil doers.”

This woman has been in trouble with the law before and claimed then it was anti-atheist miscarriage of justice. Now she's protesting again. FWIW
Anyhoo, this story is more than a little splash of holy water on a section of a road by the religious. I don't think the effective response is to wash it off, but sheesh, this is nuts.
I think praying for non-xians to be incarcerated is crazy over the top and concerning. What if people from other religions object to having a holy oil boundary being established with angels guarding it and cursing non-xians? That really seems to be encroaching on others' right to freedom from religion.
Of course some of us know it's all imaginary so it means nothing. Personally I'd feel the same exact way if Harry Potter put a magic spell across my driveway, but I understand others would be offended. For example--would a Catholic like it if Voodoo practitioners splash magical goat's blood along the county line?

When the deaths on that Highway skyrocket from the lack of blessing, all the Atheists involved should be tried for manslaughter!
So what do we get if highway deaths go down?

Wins thread.
