"A local atheist organization made a splash on Saturday when they symbolically washed away a blessing placed on a major highway into the county one year ago. The tongue-in-cheek protest on County Road 98 was meant to bring light to a bigger issue seen by the Humanists of Florida Association – an issue of seeming conflicts of interest between several high-seated county officials and their faiths.
“If it were just some church blessing a road, that’s not a big deal – churches can do what they want,” HFA director Mark Palmer told CBS Tampa. “The point of [the demonstration] was to protest the co-mingling of church and state … the government endorsement of religion.”

Soon after a full scale blessing war broke out with blesses and unblesses flying!

They'll soon be farting in one another's general direction. Florida, now the moonshine state ...

That'll show 'em.

Did you see the charges filed against the Atheist organizer?

I have no idea if they are valid, of course, but it's starting to smell of something down there, with "Polk Under Prayer" and somewhat unusual accusations...

Sure I saw them. I'm hoping the "unblessing" is not something she decided to do instead of filing a lawsuit.

Well I know which side has the priests and magic users, so it's probably very one-sided.

Nope, the Atheists have the wizards and warlocks, which have larger mana pools than preists and paladins. However if the new-agers side with the churches, then the druids and shaman could tip the balance in their favor.

Well so long as the road isn't baptized after it's dead.

What is the world coming to when World of Warcraft references are more widely used and recognised than D&D references.

I feel old.

Its not that. The original post that started this sideshow was:
who ran out mana first?

Not really specific, but with the reference to mana it seemed more appropriate to continue with a game that actually uses mana as a mechanic (which table top D&D does not.) hence WoW.
