Whenever medical doctors go on strike, a most interesting phenomenon occurs – death rates go down! In 1976 in Bogota, Columbia medical doctors went on strike for 52 days, with only emergency care available. The death rate dropped by 35%. In 1976 in Los Angeles County a similar doctors’ strike resulted in an 18% drop in mortality. As soon as the strike was over, the death rate went back to normal. A 50% decrease in mortality occurred in Israel in 1973 when there was a one month doctor’s strike!

I'd say yes, it's a Stundie, as he's essentially denying the possibility of knowing anything at all, except for the things you can physically see with your own eyes.

Following this philosophy, even if you were to stand in front of me and say, "I believe X, Y and Z", I can't claim to know you believe X, Y, and Z, because you might be lying to me. And if I can't make that claim in that case, how could I in any situation where, say, I just see you on TV saying that? They might have edited it, or something.

This leads directly to all the insane no-planer, "Vicsims", "Fake Tsunami" nonsense we see so often. Once you begin denying any possibility of knowing these things through any medium other than person experience, it's all just fake, fake, fake.

The drop in death rates in at least some of these cases is a fact, but the cause is mainly the reduced number of elective surgeries, which almost always carry at least a small risk of death.

Here is The Straight Dope on this.
