Effort to Recall Gov. Walker Already Halfway to Goal!

Governor Scott Walker’s approval rating is down from last month, in a new public opinion survey out today. Charles Franklin is the Director of the Marquette University Law School Poll. “We didn’t ask specifically why,” says Franklin. “Obviously there have been some developments over the last month, in the John Doe investigation … where we find 72 percent are aware of the John Doe proceedings. We also of course have a debate about jobs in the state.”

He's not doing himself any favors, but I think he knows that his political career is over whether he survives recall or not. There is not a chance he will ever win another general election. So he is doing everything he can to push his agenda through no matter the consequences to anybody.

Probably just pissed off at having to spend the money to be rid of him now rather than letting him fade away.

I doubt that all of that 54% were people who actually voted when they installed that bozo in the first place.

The apathetic and the deranged are not as likely to trun out for a special election anyway, nor should we give a rat's about their feelings.

How many governors have ever gone anywhere after alienating such a large chunk of the voting population that they got recalled?

Just the fact that nearly as many people who voted for the twit want him gone now means that he is going to have some serious negatives to overcome next time. If his state is still in negative job growth, as it is sure to be when you fire as many people as Il Duce has, that is about like trying to swim with a bowling ball tied to your neck.

Which should help Walker considerably, but back to the poll, it polled "Likely Wisconsin Voters", so it is the best evidence we have at this point.

The recall election is pretty much a general election, Walker will be up against a Dem challenger. This is basically a general election to see who will finish this term.

Assuming it happens of course.

No one would be laid off if unions would have accepted some minor concessions.
As school districts countrywide struggle to keep educators in their budgets, Milwaukee pulled out the ax Wednesday, announcing that it had sent pink slips to 519 school employees -- including 354 teachers -- in light of Walker's $84 million cut in state aid to the school district. Elementary school teachers bore the brunt of the cuts, with the newest teachers being cut first. Those with specialized training were spared.

Superintendent Gregory Thornton said the layoffs came because the unions failed to concede a 1.5 percent pension contribution and furlough days.

Remember when it was claimed unions would agree to concessions? Apparently not when they couldn't even agree to this minor concession. Yet another case of senior union members throwing those with less seniority under the bus to protect themselves. Quite the brotherhood there!

The people who hold Il Duce's nads for ransom want the unions gone. The nasty little twit never had any intention to compromise or even negotiate in good faith.

What you believe is a large chunk of the population is actually a smaller, though very loud, group.

Don't swallow that million signature claim, the actual number will come in much lower. Which means they couldn't even get all the people who voted against him the first time.

The negotiations were between the Milwaukees school district and the teacher's union. Walker had nothing to do with them.
 
So now ask yourself which side's voters would be more likely to lie to the pollsters?

Or skip the second guessing and wait a couple more hours.
