February Stundie Nominations

Earth has 81 times more than the moon, therefore the moon's gravity is 1/81 of Earth's!

That reminds me of someone, possibly Co(s)mic Dave (Dave Cosnette), who claimed that the orbital period of a spacecraft is directly proportional to the gravity of the body orbited. Therefore, he claimed, the time required for the Apollo spacecraft to orbit the Moon should have only been 1/6 the time required for them to orbit the Earth.

From one of the fellows at A&E9/11Truth:

I would really like to know why complete collapse of the twin towers "became inevitable" as expressed by NIST without any scientific analysis to substantiate it. Why would all 110 stories drop straight down to the ground in about 10 seconds, pulverizing most of the contents into dust and ash - twice?

(Emphasis added)

"I could believe one collapse like that, but two? Come on!"

I don't think this is recent, but by god, it deserves recognition!

"Earth diameter is 7,900 miles, and Moon diameter is 2,160 miles. It takes on average 90 minutes to complete one Earth orbit, so one Moon orbit should take roughly 25 minutes." - Sam "NasaScam" Colby

(Data Cable's signature, btw)

You're right. I knew I'd seen it in someone's sig on BAUT, but I couldn't remember enough details to search for it. :o

I know I said that we shouldn't allow YouTube video comments but I couldn't pass it up.

Dave Thomas of the NMSR made a video showing how you can use a lighter to make iron-rich microspheres from steel wool:

Someone countered in the comments section:
I didn't know the office fires were FUELED by steel wool! Also, oddly, other office fires do not produce such copious amounts of iron rich microspheres... Hmmm. Not to mention, coming up with some experiment that does does not even refute, one aspect of the copious evidence for controlled demo, does not discredit the comprehensive support for controlled demo.

Is it just late at night and I'm reading this comment wrong? Would this be considered a good Stundie?

the up side to small pox

Did you know small pox makes you immune to AIDS?

The last time I checked, I lived in a free country. According to the doctors giving the vaccinations, if you get one you will be safe. If you have one, leave us "Free" citizens alone. If we get the virus, then we will have better immune systems then you! Our problem isn't disease, it's our food. We eat extremely poorly and it causes disease. I get the flu and it results in only a headache where everyone around me is puking their guts out! Get the GMO's, chemicals, flavor enhancers, artificial sweetners and sugar out of our diets and vaccinations wouldn't be necessary. Do you know that most people who have had small pox are immune to aids? Not allowing our bodies exposure to the real virus takes away benefits. Last point I have to make, quit believing every word your doctor says. Just because he has a degree in the medical field and you don't doesn't give him the automatic ability to be right.

Absolutely!

  1. Failure to understand an analogous experiment (the steel wool crack)
  2. Assertions about "other office fires", even though it's likely no one has ever done a comparison study
  3. Then dismissing the results even if they were true

Pure Stundie, that.

Duane Myers (YouTuber XDM50 ) demonstrates the incontrovertible evidence of our old friends at the Flat Earth Society:-

I love the wide-eyed not-all-there look on the guy's face.

And as a Sequel Stundie, we have ergo, completely missing my point:

Why would you stundie this? What don't you understand about his questions? If you think his questions are outrageous, why don't you simply explain for us what it is you magically see that he (along with millions of others) doesn't?

Sorry but in the video the guy is actually having a go at the Flat Earth Soc. beliefs, or was I a bit under the weather when I saw it?

Do you mean Duane from my post?

If so, no. He endorses the Flat Earth rubbish. Force yourself to watch the vid, he comes out with some hilarious stuff.

Okay phew. Seriously, some of the claims that I see made make me think that I must be missing fundamental points because they sound so retarded to me...I mean, how could you mess that analogy up so much that you think that steel wool represents the office fires...baffling.

SpitfireIX and CompusMentus

Sorry but I have watched this and he is actually taking the p**s out of these people. I have not seen his other videos so he may be off the ball on other things but the video starts with a caption saying 'I mean no respect to members...' he then totally mocks the flat Eathers beliefs.

The sun is starting to shut off:
http://vault-co.blogspot.com/2012/02/sun-dying-all-metrics-show-declining.html

In nearly every spectrum that is measurable, the sun's output is declining, with intermittent bursts of activity that are quite violent. How all this will conclude and in what way is unknowable except to say that the sun is absolutely entering a Grand Minimum.

The magnetic shield will become unstable, oscillate and then undergo massive drift or reversal. When exactly that happens, nobody knows for sure. Just the side effects from such events will stir the characteristic volcanism and tectonic activity that normally accompanies ice ages throughout the geological record.

This would be because he didn't get the flu.
