Patrick: as SpitfireIX has pointed out, some significant modifications were made to the service modules of subsequent missions to avoid a recurrence. This is something that happens in all aspects of engineering, not just aerospace, when something goes wrong. Surprised that in your "extensive" research you didn't tumble to those modifications.
Even further, I'm surprised that you didn't discover the root causes of the accident (the fire was a symptom). So, while you're working on those pesky PTFE calculations, take a short break and let us know if you found that information (no help from the peanut gallery please - I gave enough of a hint by using the plural).
Or, you can supply Jay your contact info and ask one of the principals, Gene Kranz, directly about these points.

(NOTE: I would love to have the opportunity of a lifetime like this to have a one-on-one conversation with one of modern America's heroes. Ah, well....)

Pictures like this?

Oh, one more thing, regarding medical training. My youngest daughter recently graduated from a pretty prestigious nursing program with a bachelors degree in nursing. She was the top of the class (3.98 GPA, thank you), with more honors than I knew could be had. She basically walked into a cardiac nurses job at a major hospital. So I asked her last night how many chem courses she had to take. Turns out a Bachelor's in nursing takes one full year of general chemistry at the college level.
So how did you, Patrick, become a doctor with just high school chemistry?
Maybe the best thing to do in this thread is ignore pat until he accepts Jay's challenge.
And you would have thought after making a similar mistake about there being no photos of West Crater Patrick1000 would have been a little less cavalier about making such claims, it seems not.
And again there is the double standard Patrick applies to Apollo 12/Apollo 13. On the one hand he suggests that they should have aborted Apollo 12 because of a lightning strike that caused no obvious damage. On the other hand with a bang, shimmy, venting, and various systems going offline on Apollo 13 he contends thinking about the lifeboat scenario after 15 minutes is an overreaction.
Of course he could get explanations for all this if he just spoke with Mr. Kranz, so when are you going to ante up your contact details Patrick1000?
Can't say it was the first one in space, as that is all the point.....
Aldrin started down the ladder, and then back up to be sure not to "lock the door".
"Good thought", said Armstrong.
Aldrin followed with, "That's our home for the next couple of hours. We want to take good care of it".
So of course they've got better than half a day more to go for this simulated mission. Hard to know if the slip was that of a script writer or if they let these guys ad lib at all. I imagine the EVA script was TIGHT. I suspect this slip was not Aldrin's but his script writer's.....

barbers shops. It's why they have the red and white spiral stripe pole outside.
Surgerons weren't doctors. They were usualy barbers armed with very sharp razors who would cut off any offending parts.
They were looked down on by the doctors.
Barbers shops in the uk still have a red and white striped pole outside as a sign of the blood and bandages.
When qualified and practicing a surgeon drops the dr title and calls himself mr.
That is your claim, you have provide zero evidence to validate it and plenty of evidence that you lack the knowledge to be such.
Let me show you an example of a fake claim:
I claim I can read minds: I have read your mind and it tell me you have a degree in sociology.
In Patrick's world the fact that I have made a claim means its true and under the wonderful set of rules in your universe, i don't have to provide any evidence for it either
So when did you get your sociology degree?

For my Bachelors I had to take three science classes at college level. So I took Chemistry, Geology and Meteorology. My Major was Theatre Arts. On the other hand I was able to take a class called "Math for Arts Majors," which basically glossed over algebra, geometry and trig.
Fair enough, ignore me....I shall continue with my well referenced/proven/documented/well substantiated charges and revelations of Apollo truth.
Not sure I understand your point.....This photo is not proof of the scenario as presented in the Cortright Report.
The photo in and of itself proves nothing.
What the investigators should have done...
This Cortright investigation has already been proven to be obviously very fake, and I have only begun to examine its details.
Of course my claims about the chemistry issues are quite valid Hans..
The investigators claim there was 0.13 pounds of Teflon available for combustion, and furthermore, that the combustion of said Teflon was adequate to blow the tank. Given these claims, the investigators are required simply to show by way of experiments, however straightforward or sophisticated, that there were indeed 0.13 pounds of Teflon available to burn, and were it to burn, it would blow a tank. They did not do this. Look at the reports for yourself. I have already provided links.
Not sure I understand your point.....This photo is not proof of the scenario as presented in the Cortright Report. One could argue that it is consistent with the report, but so what, it is consistent with a million other scenarios as well. It borders on irrelevant except in that it would seem to indicate the damage was generated by an internal energy source and not an external one. The photo in and of itself proves nothing.
What the investigators should have done is shown how a tank could be blown and shown that this blowing was more likely than not true in the case of the Apollo 13 tank all considered. That is, their experiments should have lead to the actual blowing of tanks and their fixes should have lead to experiments demonstrating the tanks so fixed could no longer be blown.
