Hey, no-one said it had to be an amoeba. These are big enough to get 4 nails into, but probably a bit too fragile, though they do have multiple nuclei (three in one, anyone?).

Okay but it's not very impressive putting nails into a single cell organism. How's it going to carry the cross to the place where it's going to get crucified? Does it have a nervous system and pain receptors? Not much point if it doesn't hurt. Maybe you could nail it to a giant piece of plywood. Not having arms and legs makes a cross hard to use I imagine.

I had a call on the door phone today from some woman inquiring on whether I had ever considered how such an old book like the bible could be relevant today.
I said YES and NO and asked her to continue on her list.

I assume it was Jehovah's witnesses on an recruitment drive but did not have the energy to discuss with them.

For a minute there I had a vision of Jehovah's Witnesses in inflatable boats chasing down ships at sea like Somali pirates, but I suppose the boring answer is that you're ashore at the moment.

:)

I bet they're easier to crucify too.
Be careful, P. Z. Meyers would probably have you pharyngulated for that.:D

That's odd, I had my first encounter with them in years today.

Yes, I came home over a week ago.
I have then spent a a few days in the UK on a course but are home for most of 3 weeks now.
They are so much easier to deal with at the end of a door phone from the 4. floor. :D

Some of the treads here make me really glad that I don't have to deal with missionaries up close and personal. The last were in high school and reasonable manageable, we discussed whether the complete inconsistency of the bible were a sign of a divine inspiration or proof that no human could be dumb enough to fake it that incompetently.
"If I were making up a religion I would have made it more consistent"
