Why vegans are simply better people

If you have eaten the standard American or european diet all your life, then it is a guarantee that you have cardiovascular disease. Alot of thin meat eaters have died a many myocardial infarction.

Get this and don't forget it. SAD, the standard american diet of eating meat, fried foods, sugars etc...is the cause of cardiovascular disease. Get it and don't forget it.

My heart is fine, I had it tested for a minor operation last year. My resting heartbeat is 52 bpm. I live on a balanced diet and don't you forget it. All are vegans as arrogant as you? You appear to know a lot about people that you've never met. All vegans die of heart failure too. Your word is not to be trusted, you are 53 and in your mid 30's at the same time.

deleted but you can guess what I was going to say. Read the member's agreement that you signed up too. Congratulations on living forever. Why do you hate vegetables so much that you kill them and consume them?

Since I am the OP, I can state quite honestly, that yes the thread had nothing to do with the title as it did about the dangers of too much meat.

What about the dangers of mindless pontification, self-righteousness preaching and insulting people because of what they choose to eat? The stress of modern life plays a large part in heart disease. Thank you for disproving the title of the thread.

Now THIS is the kind of debate you were itching for, wasn't dafyyd? :D

Well there isn't much of an option when confronted with the sanctimonious arrogance of the OP save ignoring it all together secure in the knowledge that that sort of douchebaggery is the type most vegans fear as it stereotypes them in ways that they'd rather not be thought of.

Dafydd. If you must insult me at least get my name right. You can do it by reading. It's quite easy. Comparing somebody to a pig is not quite Wildean. I was coming down to his level.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, I was meaning having a truly self-righteous vegan windbag to argue with rather than prevaricators like myself ;)

I have empathy for an animal bought to this life and denied freedom to run and freedom to have a chance for fullfillment.

Fullfillment ? Aside from eating, crapping and making babies, what do animals do, exactly, that could be considered fullfilling ?

And what about the constant stress ?

I have no empathy for a life who abuses others with no remorse. I have no empathy for a life that choses to be selfish to the point of obesity.

So you have no empathy for those who make their own choices.

Regarding causes of heart attacks and strokes: About 30 years ago, a blood clotting condition known as Leiden Factor 5 was found. It affects about 5% of the population and is only directly inherited. It was found in me by a haematologist, to whom I shall always be most grateful and who was puzzled that an apparently very fit person like myself should have had blood clots in my eyes. We then realised that the major strokes and heart attacks in my father's family were mainly as a result of that condition, so it cannot be said that the main cause of their deaths was their diet. I doubt very much whether becoming vegans would have helped at all!!

I speak for myself as you do. Your reply is quite rude.
It was not as rude as your OP, nor as rude as some of your subsequent posts.

You will never win an argument nor convert others to your lifestyle (which I presume is your wish) when you attack and insult people.

Your inability to competently use the quote function led to some confusion. I apologize.

We've now established that you were indeed the non-empathetic sort of life you now have no empathy for for over half a century of your life. We've also established that you've only been a empathetic vegan for a few short months now.

Thank you for setting the record straight. We do like to get our facts straight here.

You are right sherlock, I made no secret about the fact that I have not been vegan my entire life.

I have eaten meat most of my life, but since you know nothing of me you did not know that I live on a small ranch and raised most of my meat for about 20 years, eggs too. All of my animals were treated humanely, all of my riding horses were never kept alone, but together in family groups on 50+ acres. My two milk cows were kept together mother and daughter their entire lives and my over 50 chickens were true free range. I have gotten in trouble numerous times for fighting with my neighbors over the way they treated their animals.

I have turned vegan also because of the mounting evidence about heart disease. The china study, a study that no other study could begin to compare with in its size and scope, told me something i never knew, that animal protein and animal fat are the very cause of athlerosclerosis or cardio vascular disease. That cardiovascular disease is non existent in populations that eat very little animal products. This blew me away, I had no idea that the biggest killer of man in USA and Europe was completely and utterly preventable.

So I did the right thing. I became a vegan, eating no animal products. My animals are still here, but they are pets only now. I still have workers and neighbors who want the eggs, but I don't eat them.

Removed breach. Keep it civil, please.

From the Mayo Clinic website

''The long-term activation of the stress-response system — and the subsequent overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones — can disrupt almost all your body's processes. This puts you at increased risk of numerous health problems, including:

Heart diseaseSleep problems
Digestive problems
Depression
Obesity
Memory impairment
Worsening of skin conditions, such as eczema''

Nothing is simple.

It's clear that you came here to toot your own horn and not blow any sort of warning whistles. You're not fooling anybody.

50 years as a fat, overindulgent, ignorant meat eater. For 50 years you WERE the person that you now seem to despise with a passion. A few short months as other than that person.

A little humility on your part is in order was my point. Humility and a little maturity while you're at it.

He never responds to my points about adrenaline and heart disease.

This should probably be a split thread but I don't think it's clear at all that eating meat or fat is what causes heart disease. If someone thinks the china study proves that I'd like an explanation of their analysis.

Is that like Protein C Deficiency? I might have inherited that.
