Why vegans are simply better people

I still think that you a bored teenager out to wind us up.

If it's true that he wants to get a rise out of us and we become angry or upset, we are at greater risk of heart attack or stroke, which would make him worse than the people he described who only put themselves at risk.

I will post this final comment. In my original post I stated the real intention of the post.

which is this:

"Eating meat, dairy, oil as we do in the Standard American Diet is the cause of heart disease, meaning atherosclerosis, or cardiovascular disease. It is the very cause. I backed it up with the largest study on the correlation between diet and disease ever conducted in the history of the world....The China study by Dr. Campbell a world renowned Ph.d, researcher from a small univesity known as Cornell.

I will leave with this final challenge. If you thinking eating meat as we do in the Standard American Diet is so healthy, then i will bet you one thousand dollars you have cardiovascular disease to some degree, probably alot worse than you think. There are people of the world who never consume animal products and they have none according to Dr. Essylstein book. So if eating meat is so good for you, you should have none. But you will have it as all who have eaten meat do. Remember, if you are over the age of 40 and have eaten meat all your life, you have cardiovascular disease, thats a thousand dollar guarantee from me to you.

Do not reply to this unless you are willing to take me up on the bet

You don't get to tell me why I reply to you.

I probably have a heart condition but it MAY have something to do with the fact that both my parents do, too.

You calling people who disagree with you "idiots" is quite telling.

Let me make this fair, and very simple for you. If you support meat eating so much, I take it you eat a Standard American Diet. Lets say you have been eating meat at least one meal a day for over 30 years.

Why would you assume that a non-American living in Europe would eat "a standard American diet"?

Most people eat meat every meal all their lives. But for the sake of argument, lets say you just eat meat and dairy and oil just one meal a day for most of your life, guess your over 40.

Do you have anything to back this claim? I have eaten meat my entire life, but usually only once or twice a week.

Says the guy who ate meat into his 50's.

So, how bad is the damage? What is the extent you your own cardiovascular disease?

After being a vegan for a while I lost 25 pounds, ate all I wanted, and feel so good at 53 I almost feel guilty. And thanks to my arteries not being so blocked I no longer have a problem making my sexy wife happier too.

Are you claiming here that you eliminated, or significantly mitigated, several decades of meat-consumption related cardiovascular disease and artery blockage after just a few months of being on a vegan diet?

He seems to be doing just that. I wonder when he had the heart scan. He also seems to be saying that eating meat causes impotence. I do alright with my sexy lady friend.

If a heart scan shows that he doesn't have cardiovascular disease, does he have to award himself the $1000 prize?

The thread has (d)evolved into a living, breathing, group-oriented exercise in ad hominem.

As if the considerable shortcomings of reverebison's presentation make his claims untrue. And as if reverebison's obnoxious posting style is more important to focus on than our health.

His claims are untrue. You can eat meat and be healthy or you can be a vegan and die of cancer in your fifties. I knew two such vegans.

There's a mounting body of evidence that indicates he is generally right and you are generally wrong, and your anecdotes inform us of virtually nothing.

Generally right when he says that we are all meat guzzling fatties with heart disease?

I never said he was wrong. I merely pointed out his hypocrisy.

Just had a quick look on Wiki, as I hadn't heard of this before. Can you suggest some better, or more detailed, sources of information?

Thanks.

Probably the fact that whilst the French may be known for a lot of things a love of a vegan lifestyle free of meat and cheese is not one of them.

Nothing comes to mind. Maybe try the cites on the bottom of the wiki?

The OP takes a long time between posts. Probably has a hard time waddling to the keyboard.
