Rick Santorum is an idiot, a bigot, and morally inconsistent...

He does not stand up to atrocity. Iran hangs homosexuals and he does nothing to stop it. On the contrary, he denies that Iran has homosexuals. IMO, that's evil.

You seem to redefine evil as how some people treat homosexuals. I find that bizarre since many Christians considerer homosexuals evil.

So if someone is considered evil, any treatment of them is OK?

So when does evil rise to the level of "anything goes"? At the high bar we have Nazi Concentration Camp Guard. Where's the minimum level of evil for that kind of treatment?

I really hope MaGZ is willing to answer this. Say you line up every evil person according to their crime, by severity. On one end you start with people who rip the tags off mattresses. On the other end you have people that killed and tortured millions.

Where along that line does the amount of evil mean it no longer matters how they're treated? And is homosexuality before or after that point, or even on the list at all?

Not all religions consider homosexuality a sin.

Hubris is, to the best of my knowledge, a sin to all of them.

According to Josephus, it was not for homosexuality that God destroyed the Sodomites, but for hubris. For Lot's sake, they would have survived, until they decided that they were going to schtup two of God's angels.

You appear to be unknowledgeable about Scientology. For those folks, hubris is not a sin, it is a sacrament.

Just don't vote for him, how hard can that be?

So, then, can we take all criticisms of all politicians away? Are politicians beyond criticism?

What is the point you're making?

Rick Santorum, who wants to get rid of birth control, start a war with Iran, put gays in jail, etc, should be completely free of criticism?

"Rick Santorum's Iowa speech-01.04.2012"

All smug in the knowledge that his sky daddy loves him best. **** you Santorum. If your hatred and bigotry were not enough you have to be a coward and not own it. You just say sick and bigoted things about fellow human beings who statistically as a group are just as moral as any other if not far more moral. And to prove you are a liar as it relates to marriage, you don't attack your buddy Newt who cheated on his wife. You don't call for laws that would disallow people who divorce the right to marry. You don't because you don't give a damn. You exploit and hurt people for political advantage. If I were still a Republican I would like to think that I had the principle sufficient to despise you as much as I do now.

"Welcome to Iowa"

Ok I listened to the speech. Yawn. Seems like the same old conservative base stuff, nothing new here to see move along. Santorum's primary talking point is that he is not Romney.

Toward the end he talks about his daughter Bella who has a disability. How sad. Arizona's Gov Brewer has a son in a mental hosptial too. She's cut mental health funding for the rest of us, but she can afford to pay more so it's ok. Rick's proposals sound like more of the same drek.

Do they realise that this sounds a lot like 'let em eat cake'.

Gosh her life is a miracle. Everyone should have at least seven kids. Rich people are our betters because they can afford children with terrible disabilities. Ok I get it.

I am always a little curious about when abortion ends, where the money will come from to take care of all these new babies who would require high levels of medical care.

Abortion is bad and the people who do it are evil. I get that too.

I dunno, it's not that he's a bigot or hates gay people that bugs me. He's just the same old lame-o kind of politican who is gumming things up right now. Why would I want more of them?

I've explained myself a month ago. Try to keep up.

You keep up with allowing excuses for malfeasance, I'll have to keep pointing it out.

I'm a skeptic in any case, where's the cite for your explanation?

Like. Up vote. This.

Santorum, as does many of the religious, use religion to rationalize their prejudice, their hatred, and the bad things they do. I had a Facebook argument with an old high school friend that was absolutely Orwellian. He And his flock want to subjecate gays because they love them and want to help them. All in the name of an ancient mythology.

"Birth control harms societies" Santorum

Yes Virginia it is the 21st century. Yes, religious based ignorance still holds considerable influence. Perhaps someday we well outgrow the need to suck our thumb and cling to known falsehoods. Just not today. Thanks Rick for being a colossal douche and an embarrassment to enlightened people everywhere.

I think the execution of people because of their sexual orientation is conventionally viewed as immoral in at least the Western world (and probably world-wide).

I think the view that homosexuals are evil is an unconventional position --even among Christians, and even among Christians who think homosexuality is a sin most of whom are careful to say that they consider the sin evil but not the person.
