The Rick Perry, Crash and Burn thread.

Maybe not as bad as it seems. It is possible that he is referring to a specific ruling that had an abstention.

However, that does not excuse his apparent lack of understanding of the constitutional role and authority of the SCOTUS.

I also like his wish to do away with the federal government. I am certain that he is not referring to the entire government, but his poor word choice does not make him look good.

The graph on that page has interesting functionality. You can scroll to see past the current year, actually several years in the future.

You can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to make it scroll. If you click on the bottom band of the graph, hitting the page-down button makes it scroll forward about 300 years. I made it out to year 106700 before getting bored.

He's pretty close to dropping out, but we can't let ol' Governor Rick fade away without bringing this up.

Rick Perry said:
“When you have a country that is being ruled by what many would perceive to be Islamic terrorists," Perry said, "when you start seeing that type of activity against their own citizens, then yes, not only is it time for us to have a conversation about whether or not they belong to be in NATO, but it's time for the United States, when we look at their foreign aid, to go to zero with it."

Naturally, he is completely full of it. Not only is Turkey one of the least terrorist-infested states in the mid-east, it gets very little aid from the US.
On behalf of my state, I apologize to all Americans for allowing this nitwit to hold public office.

This one is the crème de la crème. Perry is like Homer Simpson -- his monumental stupidity triggers international incidents.

I suspect Perry will be the next one to drop out of the race, since he is now in last place in the Republican polls. I,m curious about two things:

1) Why hasn't he crashed and burned already?

2) Where will those still supporting his candidacy go once he's bowed out?

He has.

They're already gone to one of the other candidates, or waiting on the sidelines. They will eventually come home to Romney -- unenthusiastically.

And this "“A substantial number of scientists [have] manipulated data to keep the money rolling in,”
On behalf of my state, I also apologize to all Americans, and fellow scientist around the world.

I don't know why, but as I read that I pictured a kitty seeing just how much it can unroll a roll of tp. ;)

As they say in one of my favorite movies:

Ding! Dong!

Another witch is gone!

And now Perry has thrown his support behind one of the most stupid, one of the most lying, and one of the most absurd left in the bunch.

In any event, I sure am glad that these guys are Republicans.

Given the fact that Perry has dropped below 1% in the primaries, his endorsement of Newt Gingrich is actually support for Romney.

We have a winner! Did you enter for the $million?

2) Where will those still supporting his candidacy go once he's bowed out?
As previously mentioned he endorsed Gingrich.

Also interesting, Santorum won in Iowa (+34 votes) with the latest recounts, although it's still being termed a "tie".
