Do atheists assist Islamic radicals?

"Do atheists assist Islamic radicals?"

Yes.

Do you think if Muslims were fighting to have creationsim taught in public schools and if Muslims wanted mandatory prayer in school and if Muslims wanted Islamic monuments constructed in front of government buildings that atheists would not mind?

In the other thread someone pulled out the fact that atheists largely were not against the construction of a mosque in Lower Manhattan. Somehow this was used as evidence that atheists want to assist Islamic holy war.

Something that's especially stupid, given the outspoken views of the man behind the project, the purpose of the organization he founded, and the nature of the other mosque in Manhattan that he was imam at for 26 years before the mosque in question was proposed.

No argument from me on that. I still think they should have gone ahead with the mosque or community center or whatever.

I take it you meant to show everyone that things like irony and sarcasm blow right past you? Congratulations. Have you an encore?

Also:
A diaspora (from Greek διασπορά, "scattering, dispersion")[1] is "the movement, migration, or scattering of people away from an established or ancestral homeland"[2] or "people dispersed by whatever cause to more than one location",[3] or "people settled far from their ancestral homelands".[2]

So no. But thank you for playing.

No I was just curious how an atheist can hate God?

There seems to be a diaspora between these two statements in your post

Can you please elaborate a bit on the relation?

Edit: Never mind. I just read through.

We live in the real world where nobody has ever provided a shred of proof that a god exists.
That's because there hasn't been a "shred" of effort to do so.

We shouldn't stray from the topic of OP too far, though, not to offend the poster by implying that his subject is too boring to think about. That would be unChristian-like.

.

The believers should put more effort into it. Why the quote marks around the word shred?

You can hate someone's concept of God without thinking it is a real thing.
In that case a person hates the concept of Christianity, but slingblade was pretty clear on the object of her hate:
Go ahead and ask me why I hate god.
That's a contradiction that couldn't pass by MG 1962 unnoticed.

That statement doesn't imply that he hates god. It implies that christians ask that stupid strawman question "why do you hate god" all of the time.

I very clearly said I do not hate god. I cannot, because there is no god to hate. But if someone is going to ask that incredibly stupid question, then I've got a much more pertinent one to ask right back, when they do.

Again, the sarcasm and irony blew right past you.

It's not a bloody contradiction!

It's me DARING you to go ahead and ASK THAT STUPID QUESTION.

A DARE. Sarcasm. And it just went *WHOOOSH!* right past you both.

Sheesh, you guys. You're not making yourselves look very good.

I think it was your fifth husband who did the threatening, not me.

Excuse me? I've been married twice.

It's my Christian minister ex who's on his fifth or sixth wife now.

Are you really that childish?

Maybe if you stopped quote mining to the degree that you took out the other part of the sentence (which in itself makes the content quite different, nevermind the rest of the post that you just snipped to make it look like you found a "gotcha" moment), you'd easier understand what it is slingblade really hates.

1) Defacing a nativity scene, while potentially petty, is not forcing a belief on someone.

so you endorse vandalism then?

2) I believe that atheism as a whole wants to fight Islamic Radicalism as much as anyone.

Commies would have us believe that to.

3) If you believe otherwise please explain why.

No you need to prove me wrong, and you are likely against the right to eat cheese, I am shocked and appalled, Travis.

so you endorse vandalism then?

Did I, in any way, say I endorse vandalism?

Commies would have us believe that to.

What? How is communism relevant?

No you need to prove me wrong, and you are likely against the right to eat cheese, I am shocked and appalled, Travis.

I have to prove that atheists want to fight Islamic radicalism? How many atheist US Marines that served in Afghanistan do you want me to name?
