Considering that you said it was wrong to judge people by their appearance, with no mention of whether the judgement was positive or negative, no, there's no difference.

And I was the one who made the comparison to the stereotype. You were taking potshots at me a few posts ago. Try to keep up. Or better yet, stop. You're risking rule 11.

Total crap. Capitalism only creates wealth when it is required to actually invest in stuff that gets work done and moves resources from where they are abundant but un-needed to where they are needed and scarce.

When it allows resources to accrue to fewer and fewer hands, it tends to go off the rails and actually cause poverty in the midst of wealth as in India.

AFAICT, OWS numbers have ranged between 2,000 and 6,000 - call it an average of 4,000 people. Consider 4,000 random people at a random high profile event - say Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders - how "outraged" would you be at a similar act of vandalism there?

The crime occurred at "1000 block of northeast 63rd Street around 2:50 a.m" I'm not sure what "high profile event" you're referring to.

Why would a football fan spray paint “Revenge for Occupy Oakland” on bank property?

First, "OWS -- not unlike football hooligans" may not be as strong a defense as you hoped.

Second, where's the outrage, exactly? It seems to me that the only people who are outraged are the ones who think OWS doesn't act like football hooligans, or that if they do nobody should point it out.

Third, if your argument is that any society is bound to have its vandals, and we shouldn't hold it against OWS that our society's vandals have found a home there, that's exactly the point, isn't it? OWS has, for *cough* whatever reason attracted, accepted, and enabled vandals. As these anecdotes continue to demonstrate.

Don't bother, as I have said before, anyone can be a member of Occupy <Insert Blank>. Once they embarrass Occupy <Insert Blank>, not only are they no longer a member of Occupy <Insert Blank>, they were never a member to begin with.

Isn't Ministry of Truth fun...
