But is this a commonly occurring thing? Lonely people who hang at the occult corner in Barnes and Noble and start to take stuff like this seriously? Seriously seriously?

No wonder cults remain a lively phenomenon.
People can bend their mind enough to convince themselves of crap like this, you can make them believe anything.
