So the Kerchers will indeed give their press conference , at least 4 hours before the reading of the verdict, in the san gallo hotel, as per Barbie Nadeau tweet.....nope, that has been corrected to knox family....grrrrrrrr

Thus my guess is she means the Knox family will be speaking at the press conference and she's still not heard about the Kercher one, she just made a mistake initially tweeting it because it was on her mind.

Their statements were very good. Raffael's showed his total, and genuine, lack of any awareness of anything that has gone on from -day one.

And are we to believe that Amanda is a tramp that falls conveniently into Mignini's (need a good trial to save me) world view.

Yeah sure.

Hellman's already telling the court to not turn the victory into a scrum...

omg you people really are detached from reality. You must think the universe revolves around knox and this case.

how many people would actually tune in for live coverage of the whole last day?

sure alot of people are interested in the verdict i'm certain that will be broadcast live. You just cant get your head around 99.9% of people in the USA would not watch live coverage in its entirety. There is no significant demand for it.

I know thats hard for you to get your head round but if there was huge demand you would be seeing it live. capice?

Well I was pleased that Amanda stated clearly that she didn't murder, rape or have presence at the cottage at the time of the crime.

I would have led with that and finished with that. I might even have more direct - I had nothing to do with her murder or anything else related to the crime, but she said what needed to be said.

I think that the judges needed to hear her say she didn't do it. I think it well make a difference.

No, Clouseau corrected herself from saying that "Meredith Kercher" will be giving a press conference, to saying that "Meredith Kercher's family" will be giving a press conference.

Quite why Meredith's family want to give a press conference while the judicial panel are deliberating, only they and their jackal lawyer Maresca will know. But they have every right to do so. As I've said before, it's genuinely sad to see them being put through the wringer in this way, and it is sad that they will think justice has been denied to Meredith when Knox and Sollecito are acquitted this evening. We can only hope that in time they have the space and clarity of thought to understand that only one person killed Meredith: Rudy Guede. And I hope that if and when they come to that realisation, they might at least have some slight compassion for Knox, Sollecito and their families, rather than any bitterness or hatred.

On the contrary, I thought a noonday press conference would suggest an attempt for the Kerchers to get their "last words" in before the verdict, so they could get away quietly in the event of an acquittal. Therefore, I thought the timing indicated that they had finally realized that the case was going to go against their wishes.

Now, I have to wonder if it's being delayed because they have the sense that the jury may convict after all, and so it would be better to hold off the press conference until they can appear as the "winning" side and thank the judges and jury for once again providing "justice for Meredith."

My impression was that it was a live video cam feed that would available on the net. Please not interested in arguing over TV versus Web feed.

They have the personal there at significant expense. It wouldn't add much to be streaming a live feed.

I do believe that the third highest google search indicates a fair bit of interest.

Btw, it would require people tuning in for the whole web broadcast but they might check in from time to time.

Well it looks like I had it wrong, let us hope you have it right. I thought she was switching the family speaking in her correction, as opposed to the innocent if somewhat macabre mistake of suggesting initially Meredith would be speaking.

Yeah, but they all say '#amanda knox' at the end, that must be some sort of address or something, truly I dunno how Twitter works. I've 'twitted' only once in my nascent 'twit' career.

So if you ignore that, it just means she's correcting it from #MeredithKercher to #MeredithKercherFamily, lest anyone think she was (or making the mistake of...) suggesting Meredith would actually be speaking...

I doubt that very much - this is a strictly US matter. But I do think however that the US authorities might have anticipated the potential issue here, and that they might have found a way to circumvent normal procedure (which would entail Knox having to attend a US Embassy or Consulate in office hours, and wait several hours once there for a renewal of her passport).

I think it's entirely possible that consular officials might have visited Knox in prison and expedited the renewal process such that her new passport is already in place. And I think that such a move would be entirely justifiable, when the alternative would place unnecessary stress, media attention and delay upon Knox and her family. I therefore think it's not out of the question that Knox and her family might be able to catch a late flight out of Rome or Florence tonight - even if they have to stop over somewhere in Europe overnight tonight (in which case, may I recommend the Ryanair flight from Rome Ciampino to London Stansted, departing tonight at 22.05).
