Bigfoot DNA

I say good samples of bigfoot's DNA could match exactly H. sapiens'.

Patty's included. Suggestion for scientific name- Dragqueenblokeingorillasuitus foolswoosfordecennia.

A startling mix of human and primitive traits found in the brains, hips, feet and hands of an extinct species identified last year make a strong case for it being the immediate ancestor to the human lineage, scientists have announced.

These new findings could rewrite long-standing theories about the precise steps human evolution took, they added, including the notion that early human female hips changed shape to accommodate larger-brained offspring. There is also new evidence suggesting that this species had the hands of a toolmaker.

Well, within the past few hours, Melba Ketchum has given her lecture at the Honobia, Oklahoma Bigfoot Conference. The BFF has been buzzing with anticipation of what she would say concerning her Bigfoot DNA project thing along with her submission of a scientific paper to a journal(s).

Well, within the past few hours, Melba Ketchum has given her lecture at the Honobia, Oklahoma Bigfoot Conference....
Not exactly...
jerrywayne at BFF:
Dr. Ketchum was a no show. The reason given was last minute developments concerning her manuscript (peer reviewed paper) having took up too much recent time. Instead, she was interviewed this week on camera by conference personnel and that presentation was given. Nothing we didn't already know...
Of course. Her dog ate her pioneering, mind-blowing, validated, bomb-proof homework.

Somewhere in South Texas, a Better Business Bureau is having a good laugh.

Jerry Wayne gives a review over on BFF.

The retired Forest Ranger said all of this information is on file at the Polk County Sheriff's Office. He concluded by noting that Bigfoot are "nice people," apparently in contradiction to Bauman's experience.

The location was a church retreat. This may have had something to do with Paulides noting he was not an evolutionist. This pleased the Forest Ranger, he said, as he talked briefly about the Book of the Creator (a book that he long ago misplaced or loaned out, and would like to read again if anyone runs across a copy).

Add more Bigfooters who are Creationists to the pile.

Not surprising at all. One must have "faith" to believe in either. This graphic illustrates perfectly bigfoot logic as well.

This thing has turned out weirder than I imagined.
I'm not sure I even got to the 'imagining' part. And of course the star presenter had to cancel at the last minute. Don't worry folks, she sent us a non-YouTube YouTube video to assuage our disappointment. Wait, forget it, she didn't really say anything (of substance). And whew, she didn't have to answer any pesky questions either. What luck!

Actually, I'm mostly confused as to exactly what it is that's supposed to be coming out of all this. Ketchum has already determined it is Bigfoot DNA, but just hasn't finished writing the 'submittal paper' saying so? Or is she still 'testing and determining' and they're still just sittin around waiting to hear her conclusions...that will be put in her 'paper'...that she hasn't finished? Or maybe she hasn't said/done anything (of substance) about anything (of substance) with/to anyone (of substance) and it's just those ever hopeful Bigfooters putting the weight of their crumbling Bigfoot world onto her SOME-MO-BS™ shoulders?

Do scientists typically, or actually, write 'papers' on null results (of null entities)? I mean, the very fact she's writing the paper at all must suggest it's...all Bigfoot positive?

The truth is there's never gonna be a 'paper' huh?!

There might be a paper, yes, it will probably be in some Crypto-journal of no regard, like the new Meldrum journal, and the content will probably be something like; while the results are inconclusive, we feel this is due to an error by the collection process, and it is extrememly likely that this DNA represents what we know as BIGFOOT.

Ah, DNA, Schme-N-A....for Bigfooters, this whole "DNA" thing is nothing new ...

Here is a video showing that DNA was found as early as One Zillion BC(at 5:47 mark):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McvbHHOltKg

Even tho one zillion years has passed, Bigfooters are still patiently awaiting those results.

Can you imagine being an editor of a scientific journal and getting a cover letter along with the paper from Ketchum?

"Dear Editor of XYZ,

We have analyzed some DNA samples. They are Bigfoot. Not only are they Bigfoot but we have acquired multiple samples simultaneously from various locations in North America.

Thank you for your consideration and have a nice day."

What's this stuff about Ketchum skipping Honobia because she had to fly to Germany to meet with the reviewers?

That particular poster exhibits what we call "flight of ideas." zero cred.
But I was fascinated by Ketchum's statement about involving nine different labs. That is bizarre. I have suspected that her own lab could do little beyond barcoding, and would send interesting specimens to other labs....but NINE?! this would suggest she is either making it up or is just at sea.

I am in agreement with WP.... reading what she posted at BFF, I doubt her ability to write a coherent and convincing paper. But she has a pal/co-defendant at A and M who could help, I expect. In any event, I expect the rejection letters will say: " Dear Dr: human DNA comes from humans. This has previously been established by other investigators. You could look it up.
Signed,
Ed"

Just to be clear, I do think that if there actually was credible testing of over a hundred specimens, the results, no matter how mundane, are worthy of publication in some journal of cultural anthropology. Of course, it would be a different sort of paper from the one envisioned by the footers.

So where's that Silver Fox guy now? Certainly he must have seen this coming and has the inside scoop.

Funny you should ask. Here we find Stubstad interviewed by Lindsay.

Note the lack of understanding of GenBank and of population genetics in general, which doesn't prevent empty bloviating on those subjects.

I am amused that we now have, according to this piece, an African American (rather than a Native American) being offered up as the candidate Bigfoot. Lol I wonder if it has occurred to them that these DNAs are not only human but also different from each other???

Note the bitterness towards Ketchum.
