Such hatred for Palin

This is about TV isn't it?
No.
Why's it in the politics subforum?
Because a somewhat-common aspect of today's politics with some seems to be a seething hatred for one political figure more than any other that I am aware of. The politics of the hate of a politician/political figure. Politics. That's why.

But that doesn't make for "good" TV these days.
I almost never watch any tv. Football games in the background. Who cares about tv? Why are you ranting about tv?
Really, we're talking about a TV gossip show getting a glimpse of the filming of Bristol's "reality" TV show. This isn't a political topic at all.
Who cares about her show? I will not see it. I saw a clip of a homosexual raging at Bristol Palin because of Sarah Palin and wondered at the consuming hatred that was so evident. But you're talking about tv again...

Since this thread is still devoid of any political discussion and is merely a re-hashing of gossip and "reality" TV stuff, I still don't think it belongs in the Politics subforum.
Wow. This really bothers you. You really want this to go away. Are you, by chance, a homosexual that hates Palin too? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Since "Politics" seems to be such an outrage to you, where would you prefer that this thread be- "Social Issues and Current Events"? I don't care. That would be fine. Doesn't matter to me. But you just want it gone away removed, isn't that right?

If for no other reason than to try to make JoeTheJuggler happy, I have no objection to moving the thread, even though JoeTheJuggler will still not be happy anyway.

It doesn't really sound like it would be worth the effort.

I think it is mind boggling that a person with Presidential aspirations would allow any of their children to be on a reality program and if they did allow them why wouldn't their children be coached to avoid episodes like the one on this video.

Bristol Palin is an adult

She did a fine just self-destructing on her own. She has some political skill, but in general she's just not very smart and it shows.
She's far more alert than that Slow Joe Biden. Did you watch the VP debate? Biden totally misconstrued the Constitutional role of the VP and gave the wrong Article (II, not I) as the authority on the powers of the Executive branch.
You just have to look at her trying to answer unfiltered questions.
Love to. Where?
Ever seen President, uh, Obama uh, flounder without a, uh, teleprompter?
Wow. So her own political party is the likes of Al Capone and Ted Bundy?
No. By analogy, some people demean you if you collaborate with them. There are many in both parties of whom that's true. The national Republican Party has asked me for money, and I told them they won't get any so long as Boehner and McConnell occupy leadership positions. Those ...people... cashed in and ran up the bill when Republicans had both houses of Congress, the White House, and a conservative majority on the Supreme Court. We did not get term limits, a balanced budget amendment, a line-item veto, an end to ag. subsidies, or the repeal of authorization for unconstitutional Departments.
Her ability to alienate her own state senate rather than actually getting them to work with her is some great accomplishment?
Lost cause. There's a Washington Party and a taxpayers' party.
(Drachasor): "I mean Alaska gets something like one third to one half of its revenue from the Federal Government -- more than any other State. It's not remotely capable of operating on its own and certainly doesn't provide much experience on balancing a budget based on internal revenue when tons of outside money is coming in. It's also exceedingly small (as far as population and government go). Overall, it is just a terrible place to get experience for an office like the President."
MK: "Source?"

They don't even bother will sales tax there because they get so much from the Fed.
That relates but it does not suport the assertion.
http://tax.alaska.gov/ would be better, but it is down right now.
Yah. A bunch of them were when I searched Alaska's budget.
Your link:...Reason:...
From 2004 to 2008, Taxpayers for Common Sense reports, Stevens had a hand in 891 Alaska-oriented earmarks worth $3.2 billion. That works out to about $4,800 per Alaskan, 18 times the national average. And earmarks represent just a fraction of federal spending in Alaska, which totaled $9 billion in 2006 alone.
$9 billion in "federal spending" would include military and Coast Guard bases, which are not part of Alaska's State (government) budget. Neither are earmarks part of a State's budget, in general.
We agree, here, about Stevens. And Frank Murkowski and Lisa Murkowski. Palin supported Lisa Murkowski's opposition. That's the mainstream Republicans who play on their seniority to snag Federal money. Palin's a 10th Amendment Federalist, and opposes this. So also Cain, Bachmann, and Gary Johnson. I have not seen a hint from Perry or Romney that they get Federalism. No Democrat does.

Have they got to the part where liberals are supposed to be 'scared' of Palin yet? That's usually trotted out about the same time the whining about 'hating' and 'liberal media bias' against whatever conservative is being talked about.

Yeah, the guy was a loud mouth sexist (or paid to act as one) and Bristol (who is not a political figure in and of herself) said something remarkable stupid in reply.

And JudeBrando hits the same level of discourse with, "Are you, by chance, a homosexual that hates Palin too?" Stay classy, and stay on script.

So wait...you've seen the interviews with Palin and the VP debate, and thinks Palin comes across as intelligent and knowledgeable?

You know, it isn't worth responding to most of your posts when you make it so that quoting you turns it into one big wall of text. So I am going to stop doing that until you use some decent formatting. I'm tired of having to go through and clean things up.

Tyr, please keep up! This week we're supposed to be scared of Bachmann Perry. Tomorrow morning it'll be Cain (just won the Florida straw poll - weeeee!). Next week it's going to be Chunky Butt(Christie). It seems that every time we giggle with glee at the more preposterous candidates, the GOP bloggers all come out and spin that glee into abject fear.

People talk of collaboration like it's good policy. In Norway after WWII, collaborators were shot.
And in Afghanistan, people who collaborated with U.S. troops in fighting against the Taliban have been killed. But you're right, collaboration is always a negative action.

I think you may be conflating "seething hatred" with the belief that Sarah Palin a grossly unqualified to perform the duties of the presidential office she seeks.

Both of the individuals involved are complete jerks.

I'd argue the video (and follow-up) doesn't present evidence of Bristol being a complete jerk. She has some stereotypes about gays. She perhaps called him a homosexual as partly an insult (that is unclear, and is an unfortunately common practice in our culture and so insensitivity here is common and not as damning as I think it otherwise would be).

As somebody said, it was a confluence of two absolute jerks. My suspicion, given Jude Brando's emphatic touting of this is that the male jerk was a conservative plant, put there to try to create a sympathy vote for Sarah Palin.

Do I have any evidence? No. Do I believe a word that Sarah Palin says? No. after "death panels" she is shown to be an insane, psychopathic liar.

I am, quite frankly, frightened by the prospect that someone ignorant enough to think that laboratories conducting research into the genetic causes of dreadful human diseases using ubiquitous research tools like fruit flies are just spending tax money to study the fruit flies themselves, could one day be the president of the United States.

Dunno what Dachasor means by "theinterviews". S/he wrote: "...in general she's just not very smart and it shows. You just have to look at her trying to answer unfiltered questions."
What interviews presented "unfiltered" questions? The CBS Couric interview left five hours on the cutting room floor. Charles Gibson asked her opinion of "the Bush doctrine" and people act shocked that she could not respond concisely to such an ambiguous question. Gibson outright lied, "exact words", about something she did not say (Palin quoted Lincoln to the effect that "we should pray that we are on God's" and Gibson made it Palin's assertion that "God is on our side".
Journalists can make anyone look bad if they follow you around and record every time you stumble, pick your nose, scratch your ass, or speak after too little sleep. With Sarah Palin, they have to lie.

The government cannot pay for medical care without a definition of "medical care". Inevitably, barring accident, for each one of us, somebody or some body must decide whether an additional __X__ days of life are worth the expenditure of __$Y__ dollars. Yes, there will be a death panel: the Independent Payment Advisory Board.

So in other words, there will always be "death panels", since these decisions must be made by the insurers. That is why it is dishonest to suggest that the Democrats are any more in favor of death panels than she is. She just wants the death panels to be the private insurers.

It is a sad commentary on America to think that anybody would consider her qualified to be president. That being said, I dislike the use of terms like "bimbo" to describe female politicians of any affiliation. Name-calling never advances political discussion.
