Such hatred for Palin

Who was the hateful one?

Who are the hateful ones?
Given that you're the first one to use that word ("hateful") in the thread, may I suggest that you give your opinion on the matter first?

In fact, everyone in the thread who has mentioned hate has either done so in quotation marks/sarcasm or denied hatred of Palin.

No one, apparently, is volunteering to serve in place of your strawman.

She quit. It isn't like other sitting officials haven't had to deal with frivolous lawsuits.
Not like that. She was an obvious star as soon as she spoke at the Republiccan convention. Establishment Republicans and Democrats set out to diminish her in a smear campaign that continues to this day (consider the timing of the the McGuinnes book release).
It's not a point in her favor when she can't even work with members of her own party (or any other party).
She works with Governor Nikki Haley and others she helped elect. It's certainly to her credit that she does not collaborate with Al Capone and Ted Bundy. People talk of collaboration like it's good policy. In Norway after WWII, collaborators were shot.
I mean Alaska gets something like one third to one half of its revenue from the Federal Government -- more than any other State. It's not remotely capable of operating on its own and certainly doesn't provide much experience on balancing a budget based on internal revenue when tons of outside money is coming in. It's also exceedingly small (as far as population and government go). Overall, it is just a terrible place to get experience for an office like the President.
Source? This relates, but it aggregates State and local revenue sources.
Alaska, which has no statewide sales or income tax but relies heavily on natural resource taxes, also has seen a sharp revenue decline as oil prices have fallen. According to the Tax Foundation, Alaska draws a nation-high 52.6 percent of its state and local revenue from a group of taxes that includes severance taxes on natural resources, stock transfer taxes, estate taxes and fees for hunting, fishing and driver’s licenses.

Since this thread is still devoid of any political discussion and is merely a re-hashing of gossip and "reality" TV stuff, I still don't think it belongs in the Politics subforum.

Wow....just wow.

She couldn't even manage to complete one term as governor, yet still managed to alienate her own party. Oh, and being governor of THE Welfare State hardly seems like great experience for being President.

Not that it makes a huge difference here, but, Obama didn't finish his first term as a U.S. Senator himself...

there is not a viable alternative to obama in any portion of the political spectrum. and i am not remotely a fan of obama....he is a corporate stooge. they are all either bozos or bimbos...and in the case of palin and bachmann....both.
Obviously we disagree. Hillary would have been better. Any of the Republican field except Ron Paul would have been better. Hawaii's ex-Governor Ben Cayetano would have been better. Obama is a reflexive socialist machine-spawned affirmative action baby without any management experience or private-sector experience. He's way out of his depth.
Why "bimbo"? Just because they're easy on the eyes? Why do people hold this against female politicians? Or is it just something to throw in the face of their supporters? Name one ugly male politician (other than Representative Waxman). As to "stooge": every politician in a mass democracy must enlist some well-heeled constituency. After the Bolsheviks attained power, the head of the labor camps was a former businessman.

Actually, the word "bimbo" does not just mean good looking; it usually means good looking and stupid.

She did a fine just self-destructing on her own. She has some political skill, but in general she's just not very smart and it shows. You just have to look at her trying to answer unfiltered questions.

Wow. So her own political party is the likes of Al Capone and Ted Bundy? Her ability to alienate her own state senate rather than actually getting them to work with her is some great accomplishment?

They don't even bother will sales tax there because they get so much from the Fed.

http://tax.alaska.gov/ would be better, but it is down right now.

While I'm no fan of Palin, bashing her seems to now be like the old joke about the comedian bombing at a London gig, who finally yells out "**** the Irish" and gets a standing O.
.
Wouldn't that be considered bestiality?

He didn't finish it because he got elected as President. There's a big difference between that and quitting.

Different reason.... he couldn't be both Senator and PotUS...
Sarah just up and quit.

it was likely scripted...

So, despite his long history of Anti-Palin Facebookery, his friendship with Bristol's estranged ex Levi, he helps Bristol's TV career because he was PAID? And has the cheek to call someone else a whore?

Watching it makes it seems unrealistic. Then again, reality is unrealistic. Then AGAIN, reality TV shows tend to artificially create situations like this.

Honestly, they'd rope someone like this in by saying "How'd you like to yell whatever you want at her on television so everyone can see what you think?" Works with some people.

"Oh, and also someone else will, coincidentally, be along to watch the shoot and take some additional video, too."

I looked at the video and found it interesting that with all the background noise, the dude's voice came through crystal clear when he yelled - almost like he had a microphone pointed at him...and he waited for her to be done with the ride too. Total coincidence!
