Merged Does CERN prove Einstein wrong?

Hmm... On a second thought, maybe this thread should be about examining if the results from CERN are wrong, not about if Einstein was wrong. I have started a separate thread about if Einstein was wrong (in the CT section to allow for some wild speculations :D): http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220248

I think you have conclusively proven that Einstein was wrong (and Bohr and Heisenberg and Newton, if you like, you name it, you demolished it) - now, could you maybe go and collect your Nobel price (judging from you nick, Stockholm might not be that far away). Or, alternatively, there are plenty of threads about other disciplines as well: maybe you could remove yourself from here and prove that Darwin was wrong? Pretty please!

Anders, its ok not to understand theory of relativity. I dont understand it either.
Maybe you should do same as me, dont claim to understand it and try to learn.

I recently learned about frame of reference. :D If a man walks on a ship, then the ship can be a frame of reference relative to an observer standing on land. The classical velocity of the man in relation of the observer is the speed of the ship plus(/minus) the walking speed of the man. With Einstein's special relativity (the objects are not accelerating) the velocity becomes:

(the minus sign becomes a plus sign depending on which direction the man walks)

Maybe I still haven't grasped frame of reference correctly, but something like that. I still think Einstein's relativity theories are a hoax though.

You believe Darwin's theory is correct? Good luck with that one. You're gonna need it.

No, your idea of photons having friction against vacuum is a winner. I wouldn't be so bold as to steal your joy.

Your time posting at Icke appears to have been well spent. Welcome back.

By fooling people to believe in Einstein's theories they can make us believe in all kinds of incredible fairy tales. We become really stupid. For example, according to Einstein's theories a person traveling in a rocket near the speed of light will speed up the entire universe! How can anyone seriously believe such garbage? Where did critical thinking go? Even physics professors believe in that crap. I think we desperately need to learn some real knowledge. Fast!

.
Darwin's theory was the first sensible explanation of the progress of life.
It has its flaws, but these have been examined and corrected and improved on.
Evolution is a fact.
The "theory" is how it operates.
And the handle on that is pretty good.

None of these persons have endorsed the paper? Maybe it doesn't mean anything special :D and only has to do with the arXiv system, but anyway I think it looks a bit suspicious. Could it be gatekeeper scientists that produced the paper with phony/false data made look convincing?

Not only did you not bother finding out, the text you copied into your post actually links to the explanation that you didn't read.

Boy, that makes it easy to see conspiracies everywhere. I mean: the JREF Forum banner has a "Log Out" link in the upper right. Is that some sort of special link for the Illuminati to read your brain logs? And if I type a colon and a parenthesis, the Internet replaces it with a smiley face, is that a bug in the CIA's global router spyware?

I read in news articles that journalists writes about the possibility to travel into the past. I hope they are joking. To believe in Santa Claus is more valid than to believe it's possible to travel into the past. Do you believe you would be able to travel back in time one hour and meet yourself? Then you would have two physical bodies. In which body would your consciousness be?

jings, some of these quotes are so funny that I almost wish I didn't have Anders on ignore!

Almost.......

Even if CERN's result turns out to be correct it will take a looong time before it is confirmed by science. UNLESS, the information society today has matured enough to speed up the process considerably.

This is NOT off topic imo. To question and reexamine Einstein's relativity theories is a must in the light of this new result from CERN.

Yes, but by experts in the field. Not ignorant laymen who don't actually understand SR.

Conspiracy researchers have said that there are (at least) two levels of knowledge in the world; one for the public going up to the level of professors in academia, and another level above that hidden from the public where the real knowledge is kept.

Here's your problem: Universities are not high school. "Academia" doesn't consist simply of a bunch of teachers regurgitating information they've been fed...they are often the SOURCE of that information. They teach, for instance, that electrons sped up to close to the speed of light become thousands of times more massive, not because the secret upper level has told them to say it, but because they have performed the experiments that show this to be true.

I know what you'll say...the academics are lying. They are in on it. If true, though, this means that professors in academia are part of the "hidden from the public" level.

As for these conspiracy "researchers" of yours...if you MUST use an argument from authority, try to choose an authority that doesn't consist of a bunch of morons.

And give us one shred of evidence that what they say is true.

But of course, you won't. You're Anders Lindman, where you live, ignorance must be a good thing.
