Continuation Part 3 - Discussion of the Amanda Knox case

This could backfire since it could result in the statement itself being admitted as evidence. As wrong as it is, it gives the jury an easy peg to hang a guilty verdict on.

What's interesting is that we have the Supreme Court saying that the two statements aren't admissible to prove murder, and yet we have Mignini saying that Knox collapsed due to guilt, obviously referring to the interrogation and results thereof. I guess the statements are admissible to prove colunnia, but really, what's the point of this bogus exclusionary order that is flaunted by Mignini anyway.

#amandaknox prosecutor Giuliano Mignini to jury: every one of us has a dark side.

I think we saw quite enough of Mignini's dark side in his fantasies of what went on that night. It's partly Mignini's dark side that explains how these two came to be accused- his tendency to see conspiracy, moral corruption, satanic ritual everywhere he looks and the obsession that needs to see this darkness 'reflected' back at him by others.

I agree. I think he projects his own repressed dark side onto others and then tries to punish them for it. Much easier than punishing himself.

#amandaknox prosecutor invokes Voltaire, Latin, and "noted Nazi propaganda minister" in first half of closing args. Never a dull moment.

Prosecutor Mignini complains of Nazi-like tactics used by defense to discredit police experts. Lunch break now.

Oh my god. Is Mignini for real? Harping on and on about media coverage (especially in these kinds of terms) when police released so much to the media to smear the defendants before even their first appearance in a court room, and right the way through the first trial, I don't even have words for this kind of hypocrisy.
Is there some sort of clause to Godwin's law which states whoever uses this analogy first automatically loses the argument?
Anyhoo, I think in all objectivity, arresting journalists, charging anyone who criticises with criminal defamation, all sounds more Nazi-like to me.

I now expect the rest of the prosecution's argument to be all the unbelievably weak guilter talking points:
1. Prove the contamination, or it doesn't exist
2. PR supertanker (conveniently forgetting the lies and smears made by their side earlier in the case)
3. Mixed DNA (in their eyes, blood)
4. The 'confession' and 'accusation'
5. We still have a witness who heard a scream and multiple running footsteps
6. Toto (yes really)
7. Quintaville (again, yes, really)
8. Luminol of some fragmented footprints.

Does anyone know if Mignini has brought up Nara's testimony yet?
Am I correct in thinking that if they use Nara's ear-witness testimony, then they are sticking with a post-11.30pm ToD?

Mignini reminds jury that #amandaknox kept a vibrator and condom in bathroom. Vibrator was not the murder weapon... pandering to press?

@BLNadeau #AMANDAKNOX You swallowed it.

Lol, good on Jodielee :)
But this reminds me to add to the list :
9. Amanda and Raffaelle were in the grips of reefer madness
10. Amanda was a slut and therefore perfectly capable of murder.

Thanks, PDiGirolamo.

So Hellmann said no to the re examination twice. Good.

I'm still waiting for an ace that is,suppousedly, up in the prosecution's sleeve.

That was a mistranslation. What Mignini really said is that he has a vibrator in his pants.

Thanks for posting. Amanda looks extremely frightened. I would be too.

My thanks, too Smov.
I feel desperately sorry for both of them. My feelings in response to Mignini's demented ramblings in court today are strong enough, I can only imagine what Raff and Amanda (and their families) are feeling :(

Maybe having Frank hauled off, to create fear, amongst those who disagree, was the surprise..

you think?

ear witness...ahaha yes, she can hear people walking on stones 70 meters away, through double pane glass..yes, of course. why not sink the ship all the way, with Nara on the stand.

I think I'll add a little cash-ola to his account on Perugia Shock.
He can pay the rat bastards.

Thanks for this, JREF 2010. I've done the same.
Anyone who's enjoyed Frank's posts, and / or has appreciated his efforts on reporting this case, I'm sure will think about doing the same. It would be a great gesture for his readers to be able to stump up this 450 euros by the end of the day.............

Pros Mignini rails against media circus he created and feeds. Funny. #AmandaKnox

LOL- loving Candace's tweets today.

I've already donated substantially in the past, specifically for legal costs to ensure he is able to keep us informed.

Sympathy for the little devils

My thought is that, if the reports are accurate that Frank was removed from court to pay a fine he owed, it is a nice side benefit to the prosecution that Frank is off dealing with his fine, and not observing the case so he can blog on it.
If I punch you in the mouth, then claim you bit my hand because it is now cut, would anyone feel much sympathy for me?

thanks so much... I really have enjoyed his courage and posts. Personally I really like his writing style too.

It's over for today.

Saturday is going to be yet another sad day along with the civil parties after. I'm waiting for the defense and their, hopefully fierce, closing arguments. They have to do their best.

Mignini played his part in the worst way he could. Mentioning Meredith's family, showing pictures of " the kiss ", blaming media (they were heavily criticizing AK and RS when the first trial was coming to an end, now that the tide turns, he's complaining, idiot), saying there was mixed blood, claiming Curatolo's credible. I mean, where are the evidence?

I'm waiting for the defense.

Echo of JREF's post to PDi.
And I'd also like to add that I very much admire those who have already, throughout this situation, donated to Frank or to Amanda's defense fund.
