I do not have "Google" where I am at.

You apparently know it so well that you're cleverly disguising it as rapid Googling and copypasta of anything related to 'satellite' and hoping nobody notices.

I do not have "Google" where I am at. I have my portable disks, about 500 MB worth, and a borrowed computer. So when I quote, it does come from my disc memory. But most of the relevant derrivations, I can easily do on my own. Well, that is not exactly true because I have done them so many times before. So it is more memory now than derriving, but you get the point. My wife did manage to get a message to me with the Borman word for word stuff from Life Magazine.

I do quite well without Google, thank you very much. Some one is bringing an old LRRR article to me today, hand delivered. I will share its contents soon. You will enjoy it I am quite sure.

What utter nonsense. Your attempt at discussing the AU was right out of the Wikipedia article.

That explains why Patrick seems to ignore other poster's contributions: he doesn't have an internet connection and just submits his posts by fax or perhaps carrier pigeon.

I do have the Wikipedia article, an d 4 others, also my favorite astronomy text book

I do have the Wikipedia article Matt, not to mention 4 other articles on AU /k calculations, also my favorite astronomy text book on my disk.

You didn't read anything in that Wikipedia article on how one could use LRRR data to determine k or AU with insane accuracy anywhere Matt, now did you?

Didn't think so. That point would be mine, all mine.

Apparently not, since they're pretty much completely bunkus. Maybe the important bits got mistranslated when you were communicating them from 'ze hard drives' via smoke signal.

Because, as I already pointed out, it makes absolutely no sense to use the data for such calculations. It would be like using the conversion rate from USD to EURO in a velocity calculation of GPS satellites.

More lies. Any amateur student of astronomy would not be so humorously confused about AU and k the way you were.

And that is why you failed.

You can post here and yet not have access to Google?

This is getting (more) ridiculous by the post...in fact, ridiculous was left behind way over there (<---) somewhere.

Maybe he uses Bing. We did say 'Googling' after all.

The oldest thumbdrive in my house is a puny 1gb.* A CD holds over 700mb. A 3 1/2" floppy holds 1.44mb.

What kind of "portable disks" is he talking about?

I've long suspected he's posting on a phone while skiving off in the walk-in fridge at work --

500mb may seem like a lot to someone with a phone.

* not technically true -- I also have a 256mb, but it's the last of the rotating-platter thumb drives. It's a collector's item now. In 10 years I'll sell it on ebay to pay for parts to restore my wife's Apple II.

Portable disks? 500 megabyte? I have two 'portable disks',one 80 gigabyte and the other 160 gigabyte. Pat is so transparent,a child of six could call his bluff.
