Sarah Palin Quits Halfway Through...Again!

Fair enough. Just realize that if you going to think of her as smarter than average, you should have a reason for thinking so.

I do. Listen to the words rather than that annoying nasal twang, and it is clear that she is marginally smarter than the average American. I hope you will accept that this is more an indictment of the Average American than an endoursement of Palin.

Guys I have a confession to make... I have a secret... I love Sarah Palin. Of all the presidential candidates she was the hottest, and sure as hell did remind me of the momma next door. I truly felt I could connect with her, and above all, I felt that if I truly met with her, I could honestly find a way to sleep with Bristol :covereyes. I will hide now :boxedin:....

Hey I think she's hot too,I would do her, I think she should pose for play boy. I bet she even has a tramp stamp :D

Would you rather have a government of self-righteous know-it-alls? Do you really think the US Congress represents America's "best and brightest?" They're just well educated, most of 'em lawyers.

I'd rather have a government of hard working individuals of modest intelligence who KNOW they're not the "smartest guys in the room" and actually try to figure stuff out with expert information rather than a buncha high IQ knuckleheads who figger they all already know everything they need to know.

But not Sarah. I'd vote for a mangy dog to keep her out of office.

Would? Would? Why are you even postulating this as a hypothetical?

I'd ask for evidence thatnthe jury duty was a hoax....
That's easy: jury duty almost never takes 2 months. Trials that go that long would make the news. Aside from that, I doubt lawyers on either side of any case would want someone of her level of fame sitting on a jury.

That she has resumed the tour establishes thatnshe did not quit the tour.
Actually that she resumed it is proof that she left it. Again her alleged break for jury duty was significantly longer than the tour itself.

It might have been on the local news.

This is a better argument. If a juror is going to be a disruption (even through no fault of their own), the judge can kick them off without approval from either side. Sarah Palin is definitely a disruption.

That is "evidence that she was probably not performing jury duty the full time that she delayed her bus tour.........and is still irrelevant to the question of whether or not she quit the tour or the presidential campaign you insist she is engaged in.

Actually that she resumed it is proof that she left it. Again her alleged break for jury duty was significantly longer than the tour itself.

That's silly. That she returned to her tour is absolute proof that she delayed, rather than quit, her tour.

Ah, but in Alaska the judge must first consult whatever burrowing mammal that built its home closest to the flag pole. Its patriotic wisdom must be taken into account.

or the presidential campaign you insist she is engaged in.

You do know where she was during the Ames Straw Poll, don't you?

This again is just coincidence? This is just another one of those stops in her family tour of historic American places and has nothing to do with the race for the GOP nomination?

Yes, I do. Until she announces that she is running for President, her whereabouts are perfectly, exactly irrelevent.

Palin is keeping her name in the papers and on the news. She is doing so to preserve her "brand" - either to make more money or preserve her dwindling hopes for another run at public office, or both. But right now, Palin is not campaigning for the office of President.

Really? So you you don't think she has timed her "bus tour" to events in the GOP primary because she's testing the waters, seeing which way the wind is blowing as she considers whether or not to throw her hat into the ring? (Feel free to add any cliche you can think of.)

You really think her being in Iowa during the straw poll had nothing at all to do with the GOP primary?

And do you think none of the other candidates did any campaigning prior to officially announcing their candidacy?

I realize she hasn't officially announced, and that she may decide not to, but to claim that this bus tour isn't related to the campaign is absurd.

And to believe that she quit her bus tour for 2 months because of jury duty is also absurd.

I think it has everything to do with the Republican primary race, but not in the sense that she's doing pre-announcement campaigning or even considering running. She's placing herself in proximity to Republican campaign activities in order to keep speculation alive that she is a potential contender. The minute she announces she's not running is the beginning of the final phase of the Palin juggernaut. Her relevance and earning power will drop like a stone.

Note how she recently said that she'll decide "within a month or two." Two months out is mid-October. Previously she was going to announce by the end of the summer. She is stringing the rubes (including the press) along for all they're worth.

Do you actually read posts before you quote them?

I have said several times that I believe she is in Iowa because the GOP primary is in Iowa. Indeed, I've never posted a single word that a reasonable person could construe otherwise.

And do you think none of the other candidates did any campaigning prior to officially announcing their candidacy?

Of course they did. That's a total of three irrelevencies you have introduced into a very basic arguement.

So that I can drag you back into our actual single point of disagreement, this whole thing is about whether or not Palin quit (a bus tour or a campaign). She clearly did not. She delayed her bus tour, and has resumed it. She never had a campaign to quit - but even if she did, she is back right where she started.

So, to re-cap:

She didn't quit the bus tour and she didn't quit the (imagined) presedential campaign.

I realize she hasn't officially announced, and that she may decide not to, but to claim that this bus tour isn't related to the campaign is absurd.

And to argue against a claim I never made is even more absurd.

And to believe that she quit her bus tour for 2 months because of jury duty is also absurd.

And to argue against a claim I never made is even more absurd.

Really, you seem to struggle keeping differing simultanious arguments seperate.

Sarah Palin Bus Tour Quitting Update!!!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61435.html

After just four days on the road, Sarah Palin’s bus tour is going dormant again.

In a note posted on her Facebook page Monday, Palin said she’s headed "back to Alaska for the start of the school year."

Could this have something to do with it?

[response to question about Ames results]..., Palin told NBC, the only major news outlet following her in Illinois.

That single camera marked a dramatic change from the media horde that pursued Palin during her May swing through the Northeast. That first leg of the tour, which began in Washington, D.C., and wound up in New Hampshire, lasted six days.

This is so precious:

I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward.

I would love see some of those previous writings and strategies.

It will be interesting to watch Palin react to America ceasing to care about her.

But at least the queen of the narcissists left us a professionally produced promo piece about her, um, family vacation or whatever the hell it is.

It's about her Iowa Passion :D:
