Oh my. Paint with an overly broad brush much?
Indeed, I would be quite remiss for pointing out all vegetarians don't eat meat. The nerve of me painting them all with the same brush.
But your post does beg the question: do you think this inherent negativity is genetic or cultural?![]()
No, it's inherently negative by being exclusionary.
Considering your negativity, one might suspect that you're a closet tofu eater.
I think this observation may have gone well over your head.
Maybe I can simplify things a bit for you. People who say "don't do this, don't do that" tend to sound more "preachy" than people who are saying "you should try everything, you should do what you like". This is an example negative and positive reinforcement.
That's why when I was a vegetarian I refrained from telling people what I felt they shouldn't eat, and focused on what I felt "tastes good". For the most part people actually respond well to something that tastes good, regardless of whether or not it was vegetarian.
Like they said "meat tastes good". If you can make something that "tastes better" people will eat it. Until then the vast majority of people are prepared to kill and eat animals.
