So if that is the answer to why this thread is about Edge, then it logically follows that to refute these claims, it is only necessary to point out flaw's in Edge's credibility.
I just have one caveat to this, otherwise I agree with you.
When a person's ONLY response to evidence, and the only argument they can make, is based on their personal belief, their personal observations, and their personal "credentials", for lack of a better word, they bring themselves into the argument. They are using their own credibility as a supporting data point, thus making it relevent to the discussion.
The answer is not "if he's not credible, everythign he believes is false". The answer is "if he's not credible, not capable, and is shown to have no relevent knowledge, then his arguments, based on his own authority, are shown to be unsupported".
Of course, at that point, I don't think there's goign to be much advancement of discussion (so as a matter fo practicality I think the argument is done), but rationally, if one bases their arguments on their own authority, then they have brought the reasonableness of that authority into the debate.
