R-J, posting in the "Nuclear Power Safe?" thread in Social Issues & Current Events has an unusual theory about why Israel bombed Saddam Husseins nuclear reactor at Osirak in 1981:

The plane that hit the North Tower hit the side facing Building 7. The impact made debris fly AWAY from Building 7. If I throw a rock at a glass window, the fragments are going to move away from me and not towards me. Therefore, it's very unlikely that Building 7 got hit by any huge debris from the airplane impact into the North Tower when it was over 100 yards away from the base of the North Tower.

Since the North Tower came down like a perfect controlled demolition with not even 1 degree of tilt it's very doubtful that anything larger than dust, paper or pieces of drywall and possibly several steel girders hit Building 7. No photos exist of a huge chunk hitting Building 7.

Yeah, it was hit by only dust and drywall, oh, and a few massive steel girders. No biggie.

What is much more likely is that different types of incendiaries and explosives were used to take down the towers. Steel girder supports were slowly cut up before the collapses using thermate cutter charges, Then a very powerful explosive like a mini nuke was used in the sub-basements to vaporize the steel girder core foundations. At that point the floor pans were hanging like a thread and a "house of cards". Then it was only a matter of using remote controlled electronic detonation to knock out the remaining supports for the floor pans doing it in sequence from the top down to make it look like the floor pans were "pancaking".

I'm actually working on a theory that Angry Birds is a plot to subtly brainwash people into expecting structures to be destroyed by flying objects.

And how often do they "just collapse" long after you think they've arrived at a stable state? No pig-built structure should be so prone to spontaneous collapse!

Priceless. Hard to believe anyone can be that clueless about gravity.

BTW, the vertical supports are referred to as "COLUMNS". Girders are large horizontal beams typically supporting OTHER floor beams.
