Merged DDWFTTW in a “Real” Wind

Laughable. Llyricist is wrong, but he puts more time and effort into supporting the cart, (to the point of learning Java) than you do, or are capable of doing.
You took a year and a team to build a simple cart, but not very well.

Funny, also, how you hope I won't make that cart, rather than it no being relevant if I do or not. Worried?

What is the point of all of this????

Why don't you just build a cart to demonstrate your claims, and post a video, so we can see if you are correct or not?

It really is that simple. You seem (from the posts that I have read), afraid to do this because you don't want to be proved wrong.

I know Humber, I know. Maybe today will be the day! Keep tweaking...

You forgot - no tweaking is allowed in the humberverse. If he were to make such a cart work, but it required any tweaking, it wouldn't count. Also, it would have to work continuously - forever. If he ever takes it off the treadmill, that will prove it doesn't work.

But not to worry - because there is no such cart, no report, no testing of anything.

FYI, your number is off by quite a few orders of magnitude. Humber's idiocy has continued basically uninterrupted over multiple sites for three years. Humber alone has written just under 8.1 million words in this thread in over 30000 posts. The total post count is well over 200k.

Wow!

Think of how much money that would equate to if he actually did real work with all of that time!

I think I can help you with this question. Humber has truly backed himself into a corner on this one. Humber "knows" that such a cart can be built. He was so certain that he said he had already built it, when of course he did not (since in reality it is not possible). Since he is certain that it can be built he thinks it is just a matter of tweaking his design. He is currently in the tweaking phase. I expect he has watched thousands of cart like contraptions fly off the back of the belt.

Humber believes, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary, that ddwfttw is impossible. Nothing will ever change his mind. Imagine someone who is completely certain that not all rocks are affected by gravity. He stakes his whole being on the fact he will be able to demonstrate this exceptional rock soon. Rational people don't have to spend time testing rocks since we can ascribe common properties to all rocks using physics. In Humber's case we can only watch in pity and sadness (and yes, sometimes amusement) as he spends the rest of his life collecting rocks and dropping them off his roof.

Weird... I suppose the same could be said of religious fanatics.

I mean, if you really think about it, the Earth is flat afterall. ;)

Again, I will. Perhaps it's a matter of opportunity, and my level of immediate interest. I am not all that interested in converting you.

But, Spork has made a video of the cart without a prop, and what do you know, the calculated forces are exactly what I predicted.

If the TM were to represent a cart in the wind, then 10mph could be achieved with a force of 0.05N. Not at all possible, so the TM is wrong.
It's a repeated mistake. That happens when ideas are copied, and there is only one source - Bauer, and his papers are not correct.

It seems the TM works only in one dimension, so can't be a transform of a cart on an incline. The question is why do you even think a demonstration from me is at all necessary?
You would need to think Voodoo is at work to explain away the obvious facts, and to hold on to what is clearly a belief.

Tweaking is called "guessing" in your case, until you emulated Bauer.
Then your are doubly-screwed. It works with or without vibration. Take your cart, and add a bit of blue-tack to the prop to unbalance it. See what happens.

Great, so you will make a cart and post a video.

Hover,

Humber first said he would build such a cart and ideo it "soon" three years ago.

It's now about six months since he said he HAS built it and will post a video "soon".

In other words, he is an out and out lier.

Don't say it three times quickly.
I think that there may be publications not from Wired's stable, who may be interested in the man who fell for his own "brainteaser", and then got Wired to publish it.

"ideo" it? Don't you mean "idiot" it?:D
My offer of £1000 to Humber if he can demonstrate his propless cart advancing on a treadmill stands until the year end.
Somehow I don't see him claiming it!

The answer to that is simple. Humber is lying. He never has and never will build a cart that stays on the treadmill because it can't be done. Most likely he hasn't even attempted to do so, but jduffy and I like to imagine that he has spent every waking moment when he's not posting on internet forums (probably about 30 minutes/day) trying to get his cart that almost stays on the treadmill to work, unable to figure out why he just can't find the tweak that makes it work.

I am going to take that money. Give it to a charity when the video is posted. Think of it as a lesson.

Funny. Spork's own video shows you that there is nothing to overcome.
It drifts back as the momentum stored in the wheels and shaft dissipates.
Replace that by any means, and it will stop drifting. A trivial problem.

You are now so committed that you can't back down, and are hanging on to a wing and a prayer, but your needs are not in my plan.

That's a silly question, because that 60N will never be applied to the cart.

That's right. It should be noted, that the 60N force, measured for one particular treadmill, was the force between the treadmill and the floor, due to vibration of the treadmill, mostly from an unbalanced flywheel. For the particular study in the cited document, it was important to measure this because they were using instruments between the treadmill and the floor to measure forces exerted by people walking or running on the treadmill. Note that this technique would not work in the humberverse due to the stacked scale effect. Our two deniers, grasping at straws, and demonstrating their usual complete lack of understanding of just about everything, latched onto this as being some kind of evidence that the treadmill tests of ddwfttw carts were invalid. Apparently, they think the vibrations are somehow making the cart move against the treadmill belt (humber and ppg have proposed many impossible mechanisms to try to explain away the working of the ddwfttw cart that they think is impossible).

In other words, we are now about 4 pages deep into discussing an irrelevant red herring. It is much like humber's repeated harping about 100 degree windshifts that happened at times other than in the record run (or any test run).

Well yes. You could use a propeller. Or you could put a battery and an electric motor in the cart to keep it running against the belt. But you can't do it without a power source, or something that interacts with the air (like a propeller) or the floor (like a wheel).

ETA: Yes, I know humber, one of these days, you're going to show the world your magic cart, and make fools of us all. In the mean time, you're going to continue to make a fool of yourself.

There will never be a propless treadmill cart.
There will never be a report that refutes the NALSA record.
