I am still chuckling about this. Our giant table, wasted! I confessed my high school mascot to you people for nothing!

Hm, we will only arrive late (around nine) on Thursday, so Thursday won't do for us, and I don't know if it makes sense to drive there for two hours during the dinner break.

So, no vote from me. If you decide on a time, we will see if we can make it, otherwise we'll have to be satisfied with all those other rocks we'll see after TAM.

You're really not missing all that much.

That might depend mostly on when Kitten's flight leaves. She's not on the arrival/departure table, but I recall someone, somewhere mentioned she was leaving on Monday afternoonish.

If, for some reason, kitten can't do the tour, we are either going to have to find another geologist or put up with whatever lousy tour-going information the park provides for us.


Also, would our designated chauffeur be available on Monday? If not, then I guess the bulk of the driving might end up falling on me, which is not as big a deal, I guess.


None of this, however, seems to make an impact on any dreams of ponies and/or dragons any of us might have for this tour. That is still only a dream, I'm afraid.

I don't think it could be earlier than 6 am, anyway, 'cause that's when the bulk of the park opens.

The visitor center, however, does not open until 8 am.

She mentioned it herself, and I quoted it a few posts back. Her flight is 3:30pm, but she may have since made other plans for Monday.

I can one up you, Mitchell. I work for a telco and I have my very own toll free number (works in the USA) and have a conference bridge with unlimited participants so instead of using expensive data for Skype on smart phones we could use just basic minutes on any phone

It may look that way, now, since the new schedule fracked everything up.

But, once we have a New Plan in place, it will all be easy: You just show up at the appointed time, at the chosen place, if you wish to join us. And, you won't have to worry about anything much else.

Except, of course, for the part where you must remember your high school mascot, and then chose which pony you are going to dream about.

We will take care of everything else!

I veto any information over car-to-car communication as I think it's way to complicated. If you want to hear about the geology, you have to come outside. Just wear a hat and stay hydrated. I can perhaps give an overview of the geology at the visitor center before we head out on the tour.

If this becomes too complicated or if I am not successfully bribed, I will quit as guide .

Also, if you make any comments about how such-and-such is more important than rocks, I will throw rocks at you .

I am glad they changed the schedule, though. The evening speakers were a drag.

I'll see when my newly re-arranged flight might leave. I might be dropped off as well... which means either: I can't be the chauffeur...

...or everyone else gets to hire ponies to take them back to the hotel. (I was going to say "cute tortoises" here, but they move too slowly.)

(We should have a cell number to call someone in each car, just in case something really important needs to be said. But, we would only use it in the event that something really important needs to be said.)

This is good advice. It will very very hot out there! Take all necessary precautions: Hats, bottles o' water, sunblock, squeeze-breezes, sunglasses, etc.

Thanks for the warning. Since I regard my body as more important than rocks, I won't actually say that to you, so you won't have any excuse to harm it with rock throwing.
